Lord, we don't want to waver through unbelief regarding Your promises, but we, Your children in this Nation desire to be strengthened in our faith and give glory to You, being fully persuaded that You have the power to do what You promise. You credit this kind of faith to Your children as righteousness! As a bridegroom rejoices over his bride, so will You rejoice over us. Even to our old age and gray hair, You are the One who will sustain us, and You are the One who will sustain our American Heroes. You made us and You will carry us; You will sustain and You will rescue us. We will remember the former things, those of long ago. You are God, and there is no other! You are God, and there is none like You!

Jesus, the Lord has anointed You to preach good news to the poor. He has sent You to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor and the day of vengeance of our God. You comfort all who mourn, You provide for those who grieve in Zion--to bestow on us a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair . We are hard pressed on every side, but we don't have to be crushed. We are perplexed, but we do not have to be in despair. In the name of Jesus, Amen

GEORGE WASHINGTON – THE PRAYER AT VALLEY FORGE
In the coldest and darkest days of the American Revolution, General George Washington raised his prayers for the survival of his beleaguered Army and of the new Nation. The Lord answered those prayers, upheld his Army through a punishing nadir to everlasting glory and bestowed His manifold benefits upon the new Nation.

In like manner, let our prayers now rise for our heroes in the American military who seek to secure the benefits of Freedom on behalf of a people hungry for them. Father, look on our prayers for them with favor, guide their steps in righteousness and keep them in the shelter of Your Healing Wings. Bless and uphold them in the performance of their Mission. Through Jesus Christ, Your Son, Amen.
