Our Merciful Savior,

'Thy Throne, O God, is Forever and Ever; a Scepter of Righteousness is the Scepter of Thy Kingdom' (Heb.1:8) Our Eternal, Magnificent King, we Love to Give You Great Praise! We Long for the Day when You will Ascend Your Glorious Jerusalem-Throne. May Your Kingdom Come Soon, Lord, and the Era of True Peace Begin!

Our Gracious Father, be Magnified Always through our Brave Troops. In All they Do, May the Lord of Hosts be their Keeper and Guide. May they be Strengthened and Upheld, Lord, by Jehovah's Right Hand. We Ask that their Foes will be Powerless and Defeated, O God. O You Who are Mighty to Save, Please Surround our Military with Your Grace. For them we Pray, 'Rescue me, O my God, Out of the Hand of the Wicked, Out of the Grasp of the Wrongdoer and Ruthless Man, for You are my Hope. My Praise is Continually of You.' (Ps.71:4-6)

Your Excellency, we Intercede on Behalf of our USA. The People Need Thee, our Lord Most Forgiving and Kind. May Your Spirit Heal them, Draw them to Jesus, and Open their Eyes. May the Wicked Souls in Power Repent, and Turn Unto Thee, Lord. We Ask, we Pray, for Obama's Eternal Salvation, O Lord. May a Heaven-Sent Revival be Granted to our Sin-Sick Land.

With All our Hearts, we Pray for America's Heroes, Dearest Lord. For Every Good Man You have Given us, we Lift our Fervent Praise. 'On your Walls, O Jerusalem, I have Appointed Watchmen; All Day and All Night they will Never Keep Silent.' (Is.62:6) Please Empower Your Servants with Supernatural Abilities in their Ordained Work. Please Use them, Caring Lord, to Return America to Godly Paths. For Every Person who Loves our Land, we Ask for the Safeguarding of the King. May Protection, Peace, and Endurance Continually be theirs.

In the coldest and darkest days of the American Revolution, General George Washington raised his prayers for the survival of his beleaguered Army and of the new Nation. The Lord answered those prayers, upheld his Army through a punishing nadir to everlasting glory and bestowed His manifold benefits upon the new Nation.

In like manner, let our prayers now rise for our heroes in the American military who seek to secure the benefits of Freedom on behalf of a people hungry for them. Father, look on our prayers for them with favor, guide their steps in righteousness and keep them in the shelter of Your Healing Wings. Bless and uphold them in the performance of their Mission. Through Jesus Christ, Your Son, Amen.

The Devil In Court

The Devil and Daniel Webster” is a short story by Stephen Vincent Benet. In it, Jabez Stone, a New England farmer, has such “bad luck” that he sells his soul to the devil to become prosperous. Eventually, the devil comes to collect Jabez’s debt. But the eminent lawyer Daniel Webster is called in to defend him. Through a skillful series of arguments, Webster wins the case against the devil, and Jabez is saved from perdition.

Of course, this tale is only fiction. But the Bible records a vision in which Satan accuses a believer before the Divine Judge. Joshua, a high priest, stands before God. As a picture of his personal sin and guilt, the priest is dressed in filthy clothing. Nearby, Satan accuses Joshua. But the Angel of the Lord rebukes him and says to Joshua: “See, I have removed your iniquity from you, and I will clothe you with rich robes” (Zech. 3:4).

Only God can make a sinner acceptable to Him. And the New Testament tells us how: “If anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous” (1 John 2:1).

Do you feel unworthy to enter the presence of God? Remember, as Christians, our Savior’s blood has cleansed us, and Christ Himself represents us.

Justification means our guilt gone, Christ’s righteousness given.
