The Lord is not slack concerning
his promise, as some men count slackness;
but is longsuffering to us-ward,
not willing that any should perish,
but that all should come to repentance.
(2 Peter 3:17)

TOPICS: Prayer
KEYWORDS: heroes; nation; pray
Lord Jesus, we acknowledge to You that we have been led astray. But we know the reason You appeared on this earth, Lord, was to die for us and be raised again to destroy the devil's work. Lord, we have been a willing party to the devil's work. Please destroy the works he has accomplished in us and through us. Set Your children in this nation, and all our American Heroes apart for Your work henceforth, O God. we willingly admit we are weak in our natural selves. We used to offer the parts of our bodies in slavery to impurity, giving in to ever-increasing wickedness. But we now offer them in slavery to righteousness leading to holiness.

There is no God like You, God, who rides on the heavens to help us, and who rides on the clouds in Your majesty! You, the eternal God, are our refuge. And underneath us are Your everlasting arms. You will drive out our enemy before us, saying, "Destroy him!". Who is like Your children, O God, a people saved by the Lord? You are our shield and helper and our glorious sword. Cause our enemy to cower, Lord! Trample down his high places. Our whole being exclaims, "Who is like You, O Lord? You rescue the poor and needy from those who rob them" In Your precious name, in the name above all names, in the name of Jesus we pray, Amen

Celebrate The Fruit

March 13, 2012

It’s easy to develop a critical spirit toward people who are not growing spiritually according to our expectations. We can easily spot areas of concern that need correction, but we also need to take note of what’s right. In his letters, Paul often needed to correct churches, but he also celebrated what was good.

In Paul’s letter to the Colossians, for example, he mentioned that the gospel had taken root and was producing fruit in the lives of the believers there (1:6). He celebrated them by directing his thanksgiving toward God for their spiritual growth. They had come to know Jesus and now were struggling against the false teachers (2:6-8). He thanked the Lord for their deep and abiding love for all the saints and for expressing tangible and sacrificial concern for them (1:4). Paul also thanked God because the Colossians’ faith and love grew out of their hope—the reality and assurance that this world is not the end (1:5).

Today may present us with opportunities to observe fellow believers. We can be critical or celebrate their spiritual progress. Let’s take the time to thank the Lord for the way the gospel of Jesus Christ has taken root and is producing fruit in their lives.

Help me, Lord, to reassure and strengthen
Others by the words I speak today;
I would always try to be affirming,
As our pathways cross along life’s way. —Hess
Correction does much, but encouragement does more.

We give thanks to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you. —Colossians 1:3

Thank You, Lord, for Your Love, Your Graciousness, Your Patience, Your Tenderness, Your freely given talents and gifts, and, above all, Your Children.

Without Your Children, this world would be totally corrupt, a wasteland of hatred and avarice, greed and wantonness beyond all imagination.

Without Your Children, this world would be hell. Let those who have ears, hear. Let those with open eyes, see the truth of the abomination.

This land has become an abomination (obama nation). Our greed and selfishness shows itself to the entire world.

Help us, Father, to overcome the destitution that has reigned, here and throughout this world.

Save us from ourselves, Father.

In Your Heavenly Name, we pray.

Amen!!

PRAYERS GOING UP FOR OUR AMERICAN HEROES AND FOR OUR BELOVED NATION!

WASHINGTON AND LAFAYETTE AT VALLEY FORGE

In the coldest and darkest days of the American Revolution, General George Washington raised his prayers for the survival of his beleaguered Army and of the new Nation. The Lord answered those prayers, upheld his Army through a punishing nadir to everlasting glory and bestowed His manifold benefits upon the new Nation.

In like manner, let our prayers now rise for our heroes in the American military who seek to secure the benefits of Freedom on behalf of a people hungry for them. Father, look on our prayers for them with favor, guide their steps in righteousness and keep them in the shelter of Your Healing Wings. Bless and uphold them in the performance of their Mission. Through Jesus Christ, Your Son, Amen.

SHADOWS AT ARLINGTON

Heavenly Father, Lord of the Nations, unto Your Divine Mercy we commend the souls of these who have fallen in the service of our Beloved Nation and in defense of the freedoms we hold dear. We pray that You gather them in Your loving embrace, that You cause Your countenance to shine upon them and that You vouchsafe their souls to dwell eternally in Your Divine Presence. Through Your Son, Jesus Christ, with the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever, Amen.

Nos genuflectitur ad non princeps sed Princeps Pacem!

Listen, O isles, unto me; and hearken, ye people, from far; The LORD hath called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name. (Isaiah 49:1 KJV)
