Pray for our American Heroes

Then the disciples went back to their homes, but Mary stood outside the tomb crying. As she wept, she bent over to look into the tomb and saw two angels in white, seated where Jesus’ body had been, one at the head and the other at the foot.
They asked her, “Woman, why are you crying?”
“They have taken my Lord away,” she said, “and I don’t know where they have put him.” At this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there, but she did not realize that it was Jesus.
“Woman,” he said, “why are you crying? Who is it you are looking for?”
Thinking he was the gardener, she said, “Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have put him, and I will get him.”
Jesus said to her, “Mary.”
She turned toward him and cried out in Aramaic, “Rabboni!” (which means Teacher).
Jesus said, “Do not hold on to me, for I have not yet returned to the Father. Go instead to my brothers and tell them, ‘I am returning to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’”
(John 20:10-17)

Dear Father, we thank You for another day and pray that You will help us to do its work and enjoy its blessings.

Lord, we pray for our military, that You would give them peace. Grant them a time of rest from warfare, and even more, Father, let Your peace live in their hearts.

Father, we pray for Your church as we commemorate again Your death and resurrection. Stir our hearts and give us understanding of the love and the hope Christ holds for us.

Lord, we remember the long Saturday between Good Friday and Easter – the day Your disciples wept while the world rejoiced. They hadn't come to the end of the story; they didn't yet understand that You died only to save them, You left them only to make them able to be with You forever. In that dark hour of fear and sorrow, You won heaven for them. And so, Lord, in our own dark hours, in our own discouragement, we take hope. We trust in Your love – the love that counted us worth Golgotha – and we praise the Name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and our God, Amen.

PRAYERS GOING UP FOR OUR AMERICAN HEROES AND FOR OUR BELOVED NATION!

GEORGE WASHINGTON RECEIVES VISION OF AMERICA'S FUTURE FROM ANGELIC MESSENGER.

In the coldest and darkest days of the American Revolution, General George Washington raised his prayers for the survival of his beleaguered Army and of the new Nation. The Lord answered those prayers, upheld his Army through a punishing nadir to everlasting glory and bestowed His manifold benefits upon the new Nation.

In like manner, let our prayers now rise for our heroes in the American military who seek to secure the benefits of Freedom on behalf of a people hungry for them. Father, look on our prayers for them with favor, guide their steps in righteousness and keep them in the shelter of Your Healing Wings. Bless and uphold them in the performance of their Mission. Through Jesus Christ, Your Son, Amen.

SHADOWS AT ARLINGTON

Heavenly Father, Lord of the Nations, unto Your Divine Mercy we commend the souls of these who have fallen in the service of our Beloved Nation and in defense of the freedoms we hold dear. We pray that You gather them in Your loving embrace, that You cause Your countenance to shine upon them and that You vouchsafe their souls to dwell eternally in Your Divine Presence. Through Your Son, Jesus Christ, with the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever, Amen.

Nos genuflectitur ad non princeps sed Princeps Pacem!

Listen, O isles, unto me; and hearken, ye people, from far; The LORD hath called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name. (Isaiah 49:1 KJV)

We salute your service to our country.

On Good Friday, 1945, our Dad was liberated from a German POW camp.
