This is what the LORD says to the house of Israel: “Seek me and live.” (Amos 5:4)

Father in heaven, we thank You for Your kindness and for all the gifts You have freely given us.

Lord, we pray for the wounded in our military, that You would heal them and provide all that they need. We ask You to encourage those who must walk a long road to recovery.

Lord, we pray to You concerning our nation's debt burden. We know it is our irresponsibility that created it, but we seek Your mercy. Give to us – leaders and people alike – strength and clearsightedness to relieve the burden.

LORD, as You said to the house of Israel, so You have said to all the nations: “Seek Me and live.” God of the spirits of mankind, who holds in His hand our lives and all our ways – in You alone is our life. You only made us and breathed into us life; You only take the sting from death and victory from the grave. Long and far have we wandered, but You open Your hands to us, and all who seek You will find You. We come to You – our hope, our way, our life – by the blood and in the Name of Jesus Christ our Savior, Amen.

GEN. GEORGE WASHINGTON AND THE MARQUIS DE LAFAYETTE AT VALLEY FORGE
In the coldest and darkest days of the American Revolution, General George Washington raised his prayers for the survival of his beleaguered Army and of the new Nation. The Lord answered those prayers, upheld his Army through a punishing nadir to everlasting glory and bestowed His manifold benefits upon the new Nation.

In like manner, let our prayers now rise for our heroes in the American military who seek to secure the benefits of Freedom on behalf of a people hungry for them. Father, look on our prayers for them with favor, guide their steps in righteousness and keep them in the shelter of Your Healing Wings. Bless and uphold them in the performance of their Mission. Through Jesus Christ, Your Son, Amen.

Heavenly Father, Lord of the Nations, unto Your Divine Mercy we commend the souls of these who have fallen in the service of our Beloved Nation and in defense of the freedoms we hold dear. We pray that You gather them in Your loving embrace, that You cause Your countenance to shine upon them and that You vouchsafe their souls to dwell eternally in Your Divine Presence. Abba father, we come to you as the lilies of the fields remind us that You do provide out needs. Help us to discern our needs from our desires. We acknowledge your presence around us and pray that your peace, joy and love emit from us. Praise and appreciation for all your gifts.

There ARE times that try our hearts. We are attacked by the evils of the world. We know if we turn those challenges over to you, stand by you, your strength will win.

Lies and deception rule our nation. Let evil be stopped and truth will out.

As our troops stand by you, may they feel that strength and have the power to do your will. YOUR will be done.
