To all,

If we are focused truly on heaven, then what is the fight here??

Think. What are people trying to fight and keep here if their " real" home is in heaven??

Think today and everyday where your faith is, as well as the faith of Jesus Christ and ask yourself as a believer if you are focused more on matters here because you can't see heaven or what's after or are you truly trusting in the LORD and waiting in love for heaven;hereafter??

Please pray the LORD's PRAYER and please read:

ACTS 21:13-14

13 To this he replied, 'What are you doing, weeping and breaking my heart? For my part, I am ready not only to be bound but even to die in Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.'

14 And so, as he would not be persuaded, we gave up the attempt, saying, 'The Lord's will be done.'

GOD BLESS US ALL,

Jesus4life

I don’t think you will ever get to Heaven unless you focus on “here”. To say otherwise is to call Jesus a fool... He had his place in Heaven assured as God’s Son, why did he pay any mind to us?

I endeavor to live my life here as though I will be called Home to answer for it immediately.

It is when I lose that focus that I fail.

Neither. The focus needs to be being WITH God.

This life is a fight for many, some of us have had to fight just to eat, others have had to fight just because they had to walk down the street, many people have died fighting to save the life of some one else, i don,t think i even have to say much about Hitlers police.

Many people die fighting in the name of love, many may have died fighting in the name of hate, to me that is the big difference.

Jesus died fighting for the truth.

the Lord sets the battle here, otherwise why bother to oppose the evil one? this is where we receive our first testing.

Am in agreement with poster’s comments and your comments. My respect is yours jesus4life and for your loved ones, God, Jesus, and the Holy Ghost. I fail. I think about my family, my children, my grandchildren, my yet to be born grandchildren and worry for them. I think about all the people subjected to slavery and war in many parts of this planet and I fail to rescue them. Please pray for me and I agree GOD BLESS US ALL, please, and may peace come Lord. In Jesus Name I pray. Amen. Amen.

“You will eat by and by
In that wonderful land above the sky (way up high).
Work and pray, live on hay.
You’ll get pie in the sky when you die.”

(Joe Hill was executed for murder in 1915. Wonder if he got his pie?)

..ask yourself as a believer if you are focused more on matters here because you can't see heaven

I think this is an excellent question and one that I have wondered about. Some of the very best believers, including our Lord Jesus, when confronted with death wishes for the cup to pass. Paul was very dispondent about dying. So was Moses. But most interesting was our Lord in the Garden who prayed that if there was another way that God would allow it.

I don't believe it's a lack of faith on people's part. I suspect the answer lies in the fact that God created everything around us so very good. What is waiting for us is the very best of things. It's simply difficult to tear ourselves away from the good things that God has given us for the best things that God has in store for us. Like going into a candy store and focusing on the gumdrops when the dark chocolate is right around the corner.

Jesus fought for the truth?? OR sacrificed?

He was sacrificed as the lamb of God but it was a fight all of the way up to that point.

Telling people the truth is about the most dangerous battle you can be in.

I don,t know but i would bet that many of us on this site are most likely noticed by Government watch dogs, especially the ones who does much commenting on politics and say what they think about the Government scam.

Politics and Religion then as now are entwined.

What Jesus had to deal with was also part of Government, it was people in authority, it was not the ordinary sinners who took Jesus to the hill, put him on a cross and killed him, it was the authorities.

It was not the sinners who killed the first martyr which was Stephen it was at least condoned by the authorities in which by some accounts Saul who become Paul was among them, Paul himself talks about what he was involved in as an authority.

Also St peter was put in Jail after St James was killed by the authorities.

Although we only have a little in scriptures to go by it is pretty much agreed upon that all except one apostle died a martyrs death, and that would be St john and that exception is only because of lack of evidence and it seems they all died at the hands of the authorities.

I am not trying to make any arguments here except to say that to teach the truth is a battle.

Any one can have a religion, but to teach the real truth, that there really is a God( not just religion ) and that Jesus was the only begoten son of God and that he was taken to the cross and killed so that the rest of us can be free
is a pretty dangerous truth to be telling.

For most of my life and i am sure many lives before me the easiest and best thing to do was to be a Christian or at least pretend to be one, but that left room for too much pretentiousness, self righteouness and hypocriticalness and i believe that time is near the end.

Rev 6
9
And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:

10
And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?

11
And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.

I see here you perceive that it was a fight for HIM up until HE was the sacrificial lamb. But remember, that it what HE was born and sent for.

There is a big difference from fighting and sacrificing. Very big.

HE knew HIS mission. HE was a sacrifice. HE never had to fight, as it says in the WORD that HE could bring angels to fight for HIM; but HE did not.

GOD BLESS US ALL,

Jesus4life

I understand what you are saying and on that premise i
agree, he came here for that purpose.

But you did not mention all of the other people who lost their lives in what i call the battle, Stephen for one who was not even commissioned to go out and witness for Jesus but did it any way.

Don,t you think they was in a fight?

Ephesians 6:12
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Paul is not talking about playing here, he is talking about fighting.

It is not always a fight with sword in hand, some times just a fight for survival, running or hiding to stay alive, word fights, and how about Jesus driving the money exchangers out of the temple with a whip?

John 2

13
And the Jews’ passover was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem,

14
And found in the temple those that sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the changers of money sitting:

15
And when he had made a scourge of small cords, he drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the changers’ money, and overthrew the tables;

Sounds to me like Jesus was ready for a fight that day, if some one done that to day they would be hunted down and charged with assault, they would be considered a dangerous man.

And those people did get out of there.

Stephen definitely did not fight.

The temple with JESUS was not a fight as well, it was a showing to not worship idols ( all HIS preaching mentions the same). HE hit no one.

Also HE is the sacrificial lamb for OUR SINS!!
The war is our spiritual warfare of cleaning ourselves daily through faith.
Sin only continues because all of us ( believer and non-believer) are the cause of it’s spread to others through no immediate repentance, confession to others of the sins, and more.....
The war is ourselves.

We see things by what is in our hearts.
If we want to fight, then a fight is what we see.
If we want peace, then peace is what we see.
If we want love, then love is what we see.

It’s all about what is in the heart.
The heart. The only place GOD knows and GOD judge.
The heart. The place that each human does not know about one another.

MATTHEW 5:1-12
And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him:

2 And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying,

3 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

4 Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.

5 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.

6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

7 Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.

8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.

9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.

12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

GOD BLESS US ALL,

Jesus4life
