What Do Mormons Believe about Salvation? [Ankerberg Show]
Lightsource.com ^ | July 8, 2012

When Mormons say Jesus is the Savior of the world, do they mean the same thing Christians do? Is salvation the same thing in Mormonism as it is in Christianity? Jesus said, "I am the way the truth and the life and no man cometh unto the father but by me." So, in other words, a person's eternal destiny rides on choosing the right way.

I remember when JFK was running for President and there was all the manufactured anxiety about the Pope running the country.

Now it's the Mormon bishops.

What do Moslems teach about salvation, since the Mormon is running against the Moslem?

You can find the answer to what mormons teach about muslims at your mormon university website, BYU:

*****************************

Long before the events of September 11, 2001, BYU Studies began working on this special issue focusing on Islam. The authors and editors who worked on this issue have tried to capture the spirit of a religion that provides guidance to the lives of millions of people worldwide. The ever expanding influence of Islam extends to the prominent and often controversial role that Islam plays in contemporary politics. In addition, Muslim theology, scripture, art, science, and communal values have made significant contributions to world civilization. And in quiet yet significant ways, dialogue and contact between Latter-day Saints and Muslims have increased. Consequently, the editors of BYU Studies believe an issue devoted to Islam will increase understanding and allow for continued dialogue and friendship between members of the two faiths. But for such a journey to be successful, one must first understand the basic features of Islam."

You must have been asleep for a while, Mormonism has been brought up here for a tick longer than Mitt has been in the running...

Mormon
Muslim
Israel

Each word has six letters - 666

Mormonism
Muslimism
Israelite
Salvation
Mohammad

Each word has 9 letters - 999

So:

666
999

Mormons can only achieve salvation by becoming Israeli Muslims and worshipping the devil.

Heck, I thought everyone knew this?

Z you must have been trying to direct your comment to E. Pluribus Unum because I used neither word Muslim nor Moslem.

That's correct, svcw.

The only reason you are bringing up Mormonism is because one of the Presidential candidates is a Mormon, so acknowledgement of the Moslem alternative is apropos.

Your claim that because Colofornia posted this as a Religion thread that it supposedly is only about religion is similarly highly suspect to me. Do you really believe that FreeRepublic is a viable channel for recruiting new members to the LDS church? Is there a real need to challenge their beliefs? Or is this just some sort of personal ax you are grinding on FR?

#1 common courtesy is that when you mention a poster's name, you ping them inclusively.

You didn't...I guess some things aren't so common, anymore.

#2...You & E. Pluribus Unum need to get your magic 8-balls or pet rocks together to compare internal motivatiion judging devices.

I don't own an axe to even grind!

I'm a descendent of one who was an Lds bishop just like Mitt! Mitt and I are both descendents of Lds polygamists! I have many Lds relatives; love them dearly. They've never soured me on anything but their "ISM."

As for your viable channel Q, what makes an online forum any easier or harder than your average doorbell those 55,000 Lds missionaries ring every day?

As for Mormons-who-became Christians via the Holy Spirit using FR...ask ex-Mormons Szonian and Sentinel!!! They use to oppose some of the things we Inmans said in Romney threads back in late '07-early '08.

And are your beliefs so eclectic-jumbled that they run so close together that you aren't capable of challenging others' beliefs -- or you somehow feel the need to try to put a leash on others who do? What does that say about your own "beliefs?"

Exactly. Which is why these whiney little libtards may actually provide the margin of victory necessary to drag Romney reluctantly across the finish line.

Every time they spout their idiotic nonsense, just about every fence sitting Catholic and reasonable Protestant is going to vote for Romney as a means to stick it to them.

And I say drag Romney reluctantly across the finish line for exactly that reason.

I still believe he is the designated loser just like McCain was. But by being forced to win, he is going to have to make good choices which I believe his supporters and religious background will push him into making.

The hallmark of Christian belief is that Jesus shed His blood to save us from our sinfulness. If MormonISM and Christianity were the same vane, then the following teaching from an LDS inc leadership icon would not have been taught and faithfully archived in the LDS inc Journal of Discourses:

"We may talk of men being redeemed by the efficacy of his [Christ's] blood; but the truth is that that blood has no efficacy to wash away our sins. That must depend upon our own action." [ LDS Apostle Amasa M. Lyman, Journal of Discourses, Vol. 7, p. 299, 1859]

And there are many many more blasphemies where that came from. MormonISM apologists tried to tell us the Journal of Discourses was not central to their ISM, when they found they could not explain the heresies being taught in their ISM. MormonISM is not Christianity, not even close.

MormonISM is not Christianity, not even close.

Who is the most visible and recognizable adherent to the ISM known as MormonISM?

It used to be Donny and Marie Osmond. They were the point men in the LDS Propaganda network for decades.

Today who is the point man for the LDS Propaganda machine?

When the average person today thinks of MormonISM, who do they think of as the personification of the Mormon Church?

Don't you wish?

Answer the question HONESTLY.

Really?
I was around when Kennedy was running and no one cared he was Catholic.
There was more talking about his philandering than anything else.
Oh, and it is about mormonISM, just encase you missed that, and why not this is the Religion Forum.

NP, I have done the same myself. Once I even posted a reply on the wrong thread, which really confused the person who got the post.
Have a good day.

Your door bell get rang every day. That means that each missionary gets to ring it 1923.076923076923 tines. Send some here and take a brake. one would think the law of averages would get my door bell or my neighbors door bell rang once in a life time.
