Pray for our American Heroes and Nation

Father, we come to You in the name of Jesus and bring to Your remembrance some of what You have said about the outpouring of Your Spiritual rain. We are thirsty, God. We want Your Spirit to flood our beloved American military and our Nation. We know it is Your will that all be saved and that Your children be zealous for You and Your Kingdom. This is our heart and will also, and so we take our place as Your intercessors and pray it into being.

We don't understand why You choose to work in the prayers of Your saints, but You have said that You do and we are willing, God.

Let fall in showers, you heavens, from above, and let the skies rain down righteousness [the pure, spiritual, heaven-born possibilities that have their foundation in the holy being of God]; let the earth open, and let them [skies and earth] sprout forth salvation, and let righteousness germinate and spring up [as plants do] together; I the Lord have created it. (Is. 45:8)

Oh, that You would rend the heavens! That You would come down! That the mountains might shake at Your presence—As fire burns brushwood, As fire causes water to boil—To make Your name known to Your adversaries, That the nations may tremble at Your presence! (Isaiah 64:1, 2)

Let us pursue the knowledge of the Lord. His going forth is established as the morning; He will come to us like the rain, Like the latter and former rain to the earth. (Hosea 6:3)

Let us now fear the LORD our God, Who gives rain, both the former and the latter, in its season. (Jer. 5:24)

Our fathers in Egypt understood not nor appreciated Your miracles; they did not [earnestly] remember the multitude of Your mercies nor imprint Your loving-kindness [on their hearts], but they were rebellious and provoked the Lord at the sea, even at the Red Sea. Nevertheless He saved them for His name’s sake [to prove the righteousness of the divine character], that He might make His mighty power known.Psalm 106:7-9
