Pray for our American Heroes

Dear Father, we come to You again in prayer, and we ask You to send laborers into this harvest field.

Father, we pray for our troops who will be away from home this Christmas. Comfort them and their families, and let their hearts be glad in memory of Your coming.

Lord, we pray that You will give grace to the victims of the Connecticut shooting. As these horrible shootings continue to happen, we pray to You on behalf of our country. Drive away the darkness, heal the sickness, and spare us any more massacres.

Lord God, by Your tender mercy the rising sun has come to us from heaven to shine on those living in darkness, and those living in the shadow of death have seen His light. Jesus, You were born in a stable, and died on a Cross, and many and long were the miles You wandered in between – to make a way for us to heaven, to guide our feet into the path of peace. You justified us and bore our iniquities, and You gave us salvation, the forgiveness of our sins. This world is dark, but You came to be the light of the world; the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. We praise You for the hope You have given us, in the holy Name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Come and pray.

Heavenly Father,
May the tradegies in this life draw us closer to You. May we put our hope in You as the things of this world quickly pass away.
Protect those who put themselves in harm’s way to keep us safe.
We are grateful for Your tender mercies.

The Lord answered those prayers, upheld his Army through a punishing nadir to everlasting glory and bestowed His manifold benefits upon the new Nation.

In like manner, let our prayers now rise lie a fountain for our Heroes in the American Armed Forces who seek to secure the benefits of Freedom on behalf of a people hungry for them. Father, look on our prayers for them with favor, guide their steps in righteousness and keep them in the shelter of Your Healing Wings. Bless and uphold them in the performance of their Mission. Through Jesus Christ, Your Son, with the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever, Amen.
