Pray for our American Heroes and Nation

Great and Mighty God, we are a grateful people. You are infinite in Your love and power towards Your body and we rest in the shelter of that love.

As we meditate on Your commandment to walk in Your love towards others, today’s scripture holds particular significance. We look at the decisions some of those in authority are making. We look at the enemies of our military men and women, and we are tempted to be angry at their behavior and what they profess. Greater are You, our God! Your light, Your truth, Your love, Your power is superior to darkness, lies, and hatred. We proclaim Your Power! In that understanding, we have confidence and faith in Your Word and love.

We pray for our enemies, knowing that they are behaving in a manner that proves they are motivated by Your enemies. You love them. We pray Your Word in Psalm 106: 7-9
Our fathers in Egypt understood not nor appreciated Your miracles; they did not [earnestly] remember the multitude of Your mercies nor imprint Your loving-kindness [on their hearts], but they were rebellious and provoked the Lord at the sea, even at the Red Sea. Nevertheless He saved them for His name’s sake [to prove the righteousness of the divine character], that He might make His mighty power known.
Despite our enemies’ rebellion and provocation of You, save them for Your name’s sake and prove the righteousness of Your divine character and make Your mighty power known.

But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. We bless them and pray for Your rain upon them.

While You are doing that, Father, we pray for Your protection for our military men and women and for those in authority who are laboring in righteousness. Cause them all to be successful.

Thank You for answering our prayers in Your love and great mercy and in the name of Jesus. Amen.

We agree with our sister’s fervent prayer. We know, Lord, that on days such as today, it is especially difficult to pray for our enemies. But You give us more grace. You enable us to do that which we could not do without You. Thank You, Father, that we can lay at Your feet the situation in our beloved America and those who are forcing their own agenda upon the people of this nation. Grant us the courage to keep praying for those who spitefully use us, and help us to continue to bring everything to the foot of the Cross. You are able, Lord, to bring good out of what is intended for evil. We trust in You alone. In the Name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

In the coldest and darkest days of the American Revolution, General George Washington raised his prayers for the survival of his beleaguered Army and of the new Nation. The Lord answered those prayers, upheld his Army through a punishing nadir to everlasting glory and bestowed His manifold benefits upon the new Nation.

In like manner, let our prayers now rise lie a fountain for our Heroes in the American Armed Forces who seek to secure the benefits of Freedom on behalf of a people hungry for them. Father, look on our prayers for them with favor, guide their steps in righteousness and keep them in the shelter of Your Healing Wings. Bless and uphold them in the performance of their Mission. Dear LORD, I was thinking hard over this very thing yesterday. With all the strife going on in America right now over the constitution, laws, executive orders and alike…what if the enemy is within. What if our soldiers are commanded to do that which they deem “unrighteous”. OH LORD, may their hearts, souls, minds and strength remain in YOU alone. OH LORD, as we see the “day” drawing near, I pray for GODLINESS among our troops…solidarity and prayer among our troops…commitment and honor among our troops…all in the NAME OF THE LORD. I pray this so deeply for my Jake and our friend Alek. May there never be a time when this type of battle would take place among our own country….AMEN

Hi...just read your message and was told my account is to new to respond...so I’ll try here. I think I googled Praying for Jerusalem and Free Republic showed up. I looked into it and am so happy to be part of a praying group of people for the Peace of Jerusalem and or American Heroes...especially because my son is in the National Guard, I am a prayer warrior for a boy from our church Alek, and I volunteered in Israel for with Sar El and have a heart for the IDF...these are my loves and my passions. Glad to be here :)
