And whosoever shall give to drink
unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water
only in the name of a disciple,
verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward.
Matthew 10:42 (KJV)

Text from the clip:
The Spirit of man has awakened
The Soul of man has gone forth
Grant us the wisdom and the vision
to comprehend the greatness of man's Spirit
that suffers and endures so hugely for a goal
beyond his own brief span
We are all of us children of Earth
Grant us that simple knowledge
If our brothers are oppressed,
then we are oppressed
If they hunger, we hunger
If their freedom is taken away,
our freedom is not secure
Grant us a common faith,
that man shall know bread and peace
That he shall know justice and righteousness,
Freedom and security, an equal opportunity,
and an equal chance to do his best,
not only in our own lands, but throughout the world.
And in that faith, let us march, march toward the clean world,
our hands can make. Amen
-Franklin D. Roosevelt, June 14,1942

Heavenly Father
May Your goodness and righteous continue to shine brightly in the darkness of a world gone mad. Though we may strive for an America as a noble nation a Shining City on the Hill, a beacon of freedom in the world - we, the people, have turned from You and often live like You do not exist. Give us a broken spirit to turn our hearts to You and confess our sins as a nation.
Uphold all Your servants who serve home and abroad. Even a small act of kindness, such as giving a cold cup of water to a child, does not escape Your notice. Likewise, many of our heroes have done countless acts of kindness throughout the world that may only be known and rewarded by You.
During the dark days of World War Two when evil seemed to triumph, FDRs message still speaks to our times: Grant us the wisdom and the vision to comprehend the greatness of man's Spirit that suffers and endures so hugely for a goal beyond his own brief span. In this day, give us a spirit of gratefulness for the sacrifices made by our heroes, who purchased our freedom and security by their blood, sweat, and tears.
Pour out Your Spirit throughout America so we will return to You - the only hope in this life and the world to come. And may our nation shine, once again, reflecting Your light, and pointing to real freedom freedom purchased by the precious blood of Your Son, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
In Jesus Name
Amen

Matthew 10:16 Behold, I am sending you out as sheep in the midst of wolves, so be wise as serpents and innocent as doves Matthew 10:42 And whoever gives one of these little ones even a cup of cold water because he is a disciple, truly, I say to you, he will by no means lose his reward.
Dear LORD, I pray for wisdom coupled with compassion for our soldiers. OH LORD, many of our servants have just that, a heart for the hurting, a heart for the enemy, a heart of LOVE, because many are YOUR disciples. But LORD, you do warn that they are among wolves, those who are more than willing to attack and kill. OH GOD protect our service men and women. Direct compassion in the areas that is need, and wisdom in the areas that is needed so that safety and purpose has its perfect place. Dear LORD, I pray for the SALVATION of all newly enlisted men and women. OH LORD, may they take with them YOUR SPIRIT as they head for battle. I pray for the enemies of our country. Dear LORD, deep within each country the eyes of the SPIRIT look to find one who heart will be toward YOU. May there be fellowship of peace if that be the case. OH LORD GOD BLESS AMERICA..and as always, my prayerful hearts desire for my Jake and our friend Alek...Amen.
Amen
Beautiful, heartfelt prayer.
