Pray For Our American Heroes and Our Nation

Heavenly Father –

As January 26th marks an anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz in 1945, we are reminded that You have raised up Your servants in dark days to judge and restrain evil in this world. We are in debt to all the heroes who have given their lives to liberate the oppressed and have fought for what is right. May we continue to put our ultimate hope in You – the Liberator of all bondage, especially bondage to our own sins.

Grant us - we, the people - a broken heart and spirit to repent and seek Your face. May we rely on Your Holy Word and the illumination of Your Holy Spirit to guide us. May Your church provide the people moral clarity in teaching and preaching. Give us spiritual discernment as to what is right and the fortitude to shun what is evil in Your eyes. Give us a love for You and through the power of Your Holy Spirit enable us to keep Your commandments.

Uphold all Your servants who put themselves in harm’s way to serve others, home and abroad. Keep in Your tender care these brave men and women, who are Your agents to restrain evil, and may You empower them to be instruments of Your peace. May we uphold all our leaders in prayer as You give them Your Wisdom to act according to Your just and righteous ways.

May America reflect Your Light in a world that is in rebellion against You - our Maker, our Lord, our King, our Redeemer. And with the outpouring of Your Spirit, may we, the people, bear the fruit of a righteous nation.

The Lord answered those prayers, upheld his Army through a punishing nadir to everlasting glory and bestowed His manifold benefits upon the new Nation.

Jude 1:20 But you, beloved, building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, 21 keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that leads to eternal life. 22 And have mercy on those who doubt; 23 save others by snatching them out of the fire; to others show mercy with fear, hating even the garment stained by the flesh.

OH GOD, I pray for YOUR CHURCH…help us LORD to get back to the heart of YOUR WORD, building ourselves up in HOLINESS and FAITH and allowing the HOLY SPIRIT to work mightily in and through us. OH GOD, thank YOU for all YOU have done and given us to equipped us to keep ourselves in the LOVE of GOD…thank YOU for Mercy, Grace and ETERNAL LIFE in JESUS our LORD and SAVIOR..Amen. OH LORD, soften our hearts toward those who doubt. Keep any sense of pride or prejudice out of our ways so that Mercy will have its perfect purpose…Forgiveness and Grace which leads to SALVATION. OH LORD, give us zeal..flavored with the GOSPEL of TRUTH for those heading for hell. Ones who don’t even realize this because they are “nice people” and “good to others”, OH GOD, these are the ones we must grab hold of with wisdom and discernment with deep and heavy prayer. And LORD, I pray for our missionaries and our persecuted brothers and sisters. Oh GOD, I can’t even image how hard it has to be to show MERCY when your life is in danger or your being tortured, or a family member is killed. How to separate hate to only reflect the outward man and still be able to reach the heart of the enemy needs our prayers of support. Most preciously, LORD GOD, we pray for our Military. I pray over our chaplains who are there among the soldiers to help them to “keep themselves in the LOVE OF GOD”. Encourage the weary heart to seek help, strengthen the strong heart to come along side the weak, Enlighten the dark heart to LIGHT OF SALVATION…and as every day, touch my heart’s desire, my Jake and our Alek..Thank YOU LORD..Amen.
