Why not, he already has a God complex.

When does God get involved? In what way is He not involved?
Or, more to the point, what about this article confuses you to the point where you assume that He is not?

Pope Benedict XVI watches the movie "Karol, un uomo divenuto papa" ("Karol, a man who became Pope"), to remember the late Pope John Paul II at the Vatican in this May 19, 2005 file photo. Pope Benedict said on February 11, 2013 he will resign on Feb 28 because he no longer has the strength to fulfill the duties of his office, becoming the first pontiff since the Middle Ages to take such a step.

I am sure the Protestants would disagree on this point.

Apparently someone took offense at it, even though IMO it was hilarious! That Ramirez cartoon is indeed hilarious, but I can speculate on why it was pulled: copyright violation. Ramirez / IBD insist you go visit their site to view their stuff.

Turkson is an excellent African candidate.
He is also a particularly strong Scripture scholar.
We would do very well with a man like him.

“I am sure the Protestants would disagree on this point.”
It’s in their nature.

When does God get involved? He is already involved, and it's His decision.
Bookmakers, pundits, anti-Catholics, and others who think as men think (rather than as God thinks) ignore Him, of course.

Oh, please, God, NO. The last thing we need is this liberal. Or any other liberal.

The prophecy says the next pope will be Peter the Roman...not the roamin' peter....

I would be very much surprised if Cardinal Dolan got the nod. The American Church right now is going through the starts of a needed house cleaning. Look for either the one from Canada or the one from Africa, since the Church has seen LOTS of growth there.

Same here, but it will all be up to God to decide who will be the next Pope.

I don't have the slightest idea, I just used it as jumping off point for a Clinton joke ;-)

Charles Chaput. Native American. Archbishop but not a Cardinal.
I wish I had a vote!
