Dept of Homeland Security's curiosity piqued over Pope Benedict XVI's retirement and Catholic Prophecy

By Brian Kopp

Back in 2011, two posts on the Summorum Pontificum blog garnered multiple visits from multiple office locations and ISPs of the Department of Homeland Security:

For fourth anniversary of Summorum Pontificum, Pope draws attention to little known prophecies of Venerable Elena Aiello

The apocalyptic prophecies of Hildegard of Bingen, the next Doctor of the Church

Today, two different computers at the DHS Washington DC offices stopped in once again at the Summorum Pontificum blog:

Notice the link that lead them here?

Of course, we learned last year that DHS was monitoring social media:
Homeland Security watches Twitter, social media

Aren't we all glad to know that the DHS is actively monitoring the internet, watching out for terrorists foreign and domestic?

No, it’s a picture of an altar boy grasping the EDGE of the priest’s chasuble and LIFTING IT UP to keep it from binding on itself or the vestment underneath it (called an alb), so the priest can elevate the Host at the holiest moment of the Mass. YOU are trying to make it something else.

This is a depiction of an acolyte holding up the priest’s chasuble at the consecration. It is done at every Traditional Latin Mass. Please cease and desist from this scurrilous attack on an innocent depiction of the Holy sacrifice of the Mass.

Or maybe you happen to have had keywords on your site or in your article that was popular today. I googled Malachi Prophecy and on the first page were Free Republic and Godlike articles of the results. It is one of the top searched terms today. I saw your blog was connected to the latter so it seems more logical that you simply were hit by a random person based on someone searching for popular terms.

After all, be real, what is there on your site that warrants official monitoring that can’t be found on tens of thousands of other sites? I scanned your site, nothing special. I doubt traditional Latin Mass warrants anything beyond the random curious search, not official monitoring.

..and, IF it is something they think is worth official monitoring, think about this, that means they are so drowning in mundane information they would be incapable of doing anything about it (in data analysis field we call it data asphyxiation)

The inappropriate posts have been removed.

All of you, stop attributing motives to another Freeper and/or reading his mind. That is "making it personal."

Discuss the issues all you want, but do not make it personal.

That's what we should all be hoping and praying for.

He’s a Catholic too. Are you that proud of him?

Are you sad because the man decided to retire? My in-laws are Catholic and I’m caught off guard by some of their reactions.

It seemed to me a wise choice if its a strain on him.
