We rejoice that You have sent us a Shepherd-King and Your Word to describe how He blesses us. Our faith is entirely in Your Word and we apply our scripture today to our beloved American military. Let them rest in green meadows; lead them beside peaceful streams. Renew their strength. Guide them along right paths that they might bring honor to Your name. Even though they may walk through the darkest valley, Shepherd, let them not be afraid because we know that You are close beside them. May Your rod and your staff protect and comfort them. Prepare a feast for them in the presence of their enemies. Honor them by anointing their head with oil and let their cup overflow with blessings. Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue them all the days of their lives, and we believe that Your grace and mercy will cause them to live in the house of the LORD forever. (NLT)
Your believers also apply this promise to our lives as citizens of the United States. Let us rest in Your goodness and Your guidance that we might bring honor to Your name. We are not afraid because we know that You are close beside us. We confess that Your goodness and unfailing love will pursue us all the days of our lives and that we will live in the house of the Lord forever.
We have prayed and believe that You are at work to heal our Land. Our trust is in You alone to do this. We have asked You for wise leaders, judges and administrative personnel, but it is in You only that we trust.
We love our precious place under the shadow of Your wings and for the mighty name of Jesus Christ, in whose righteousness we are here boldly before Your throne. Amen.
Amen to your prayer for Our American Heroes and For Our Beloved America.
Amen.
My cousin Ken fought a courageous 4-year battle with cancer. In his final days, his wife, three children, and several grandchildren were in and out of his room, spending time with him and sharing special goodbyes. When everyone was out of the room for a moment, he slipped into eternity. After the family realized that he was gone, one young granddaughter sweetly remarked, Grandpa snucked out. One moment the Lord was with Ken here on earth; the next moment Kens spirit was with the Lord in heaven.
Psalm 16 was a favorite psalm of Kens that he had requested to be read at his memorial service. He agreed with the psalmist David who said that there was no treasure more valuable than a personal relationship with God (vv.2,5). With the Lord as his refuge, David also knew that the grave does not rob believers of life. He said, You will not leave my soul in Sheol [the grave] (v.10). Neither Ken nor anyone else who knows Jesus as Savior will be abandoned in death.
Because of Jesus own death and resurrection, we too will rise one day (Acts 2:25-28; 1 Cor. 15:20-22). And we will find that at [Gods] right hand are pleasures forevermore (Ps. 16:11).

We have prayed and believe that You are at work to heal our Land.
I'm in agreement and claim this is Jesus Name.

Dear Hiskid...this is a special verse for me, one of HOPE. Last year when my Jake decided to join the Military, I asked him if he was afraid. He said no, and at the same time was putting together a project for school which was a collage describing himself. As one of the pictures, he had a soldier with this bible verse on it. It gave me such encouragement to believe that although at this teenage age, he may night be “walking” with the LORD as I would like...he still has the LORD in his mind and heart..and I can only HOPE that he has him for Eternity. I pray this for all our soldiers. The valley of war, the valley of fear, the valley danger, the valley of death find its only security IN HIM...May this be the case for as many as our prayers can cover, even this very day. Blessings from me for the care you have over them and our country..Amen.
I join in prayer for our heroes and nation!
