I will sing for the one I love
a song about his vineyard:
My loved one had a vineyard
on a fertile hillside.
He dug it up and cleared it of stones
and planted it with the choicest vines.
He built a watchtower in it
and cut out a winepress as well.
Then he looked for a crop of good grapes,
but it yielded only bad fruit.
Isaiah 5:1, 2 (NIV)
----
Then he told this parable:
A man had a fig tree growing in his vineyard,
and he went to look for fruit on it but did not find any.
So he said to the man who took care of the vineyard,
For three years now Ive been coming to look for fruit on this fig tree
and havent found any.
Cut it down! Why should it use up the soil?
Sir, the man replied,
leave it alone for one more year,
and Ill dig around it and fertilize it.
If it bears fruit next year, fine! If not, then cut it down.
Luke 6:6 - 9 (NIV)

Thank you for the freedoms we have inherited from the wisdom and sacrifices of our founders as well as the brave men and women who fought to keep us free. Forgive us for our ungrateful spirit for all Your blessings. We confess that we have sinned and turned from You and Your Word.
Instead of the fruit of justice and righteousness in our land, we have bloodshed and cries of distress. (Isaiah 5:7) .
Yet, You are patient and a merciful God. We claim the parable of the fig tree, even a tree producing bad fruit is given another chance to produce good fruit. May the outpouring of Your Spirit fertilize our land so we will bear the good fruit of a noble nation.
In Jesus Name,
Amen

No good tree bears bad fruit,
nor does a bad tree bear good fruit.
but understand what the Lords will is.

I join in prayer for our heroes and nation!
Thank you for this beautiful post of repentance and prayer NEWwoman. Before I opened up this page, I too went to the LORD in Prayer for repentance over our nation. Oh that the words of Daniel would arise over our nation too:
Daniel 9:7 To you, O Lord, belongs righteousness, but to us open shame, as at this day .8 To us, O LORD, belongs open shame, to our kings, to our princes, and to our fathers, because we have sinned against you. 9 To the Lord our God belong mercy and forgiveness, for we have rebelled against him 10 and have not obeyed the voice of the LORD our God by walking in his laws, which he set before us by his servants the prophets. . . . 17 Now therefore, O our God, listen to the prayer of your servant and to his pleas for mercy, and for your own sake, O Lord ,make your face to shine upon your sanctuary, which is desolate. 18 O my God, incline your ear and hear. Open your eyes and see our desolations, and the city that is called by your name. For we do not present our pleas before you because of our righteousness, but because of your great mercy. 19 O Lord, hear; O Lord, forgive. O Lord, pay attention and act. Delay not, for your own sake,
Dear LORD, I just read of three more marine dead today, this time in a shooting among themselves. No details yet, just tragedy. OH LORD, without YOUR HOLY SPIRIT restraining and constraining the hearts and souls of men, who knows what can happen even among brothers in arms. OH LORD, we pray for a great outpouring of TRUE FAITH, OVERWHELMING MERCY, and AMAZING GRACE among our warriors. May we be renewed as a country in the GLORY of GOD whom we have trusted from its foundation. OH LORD, let not YOUR SPIRIT be grieved among us. We come in humble prayer for we are helpless and hopeless without YOU..Amen.
Amen to your prayer and beautiful graphics for Our American Heroes and foir Our Beloved Nation.
