Nun, 83, Found Guilty of Intent to Injure National Security at Nuclear Complex
Creative Minority Report ^ | May 9, 2013 | Matthew Archbold

Posted on 05/09/2013 2:07:48 PM PDT by NYer

Sister Megan Rice of the Sisters of St. Francis of Penance and Christian Charity was reportedly found guilty of two felonies related to her breaking into a nuclear weapons production facility in Tennessee.

Sentencing for the Villanova and Boston College graduate is expected to take place later this week. Sister Megan could face up to thirty year in the joint. In the past, she's spent 6 months in jail for her "protests.

It seems that Sister, along with two other "activists" cut through the chain link fence, illegally entered the property, caused damage to the tune of over $1,000. And reportedly splashed human blood on the walls. Some little bit of good news is that she painted biblical messages on the walls of the building which holds 400 tons of highly enriched uranium.

In the pre-dawn hours of July 28, 2012, the three defendants hiked over a wooded ridge and were able to enter the site unimpeded because of a series of deficient security measures, including inoperable security cameras and an alarm system inundated by routine false alarms. The intrusion triggered a two-week shutdown of operations at Y-12 — a Department of Energy site that is overseen by the National Nuclear Security Administration and operated and managed by private contractors — and prompted four congressional hearings on nuclear security and a shake up in the U.S. nuclear security enterprise.
Hilariously, the Washington Post wrote a piece on Sister Megan and her two co-defendants called "The Prophets of Oak Ridge." The New York Times called their story "A Nun's Bold Fervor."

Now, I'm just wondering here but do you think she'd receive similar adulation if she'd broke into an abortion clinic and painted the walls with blood?

Exit question: Why is the Vatican picking on the nuns?

By not attending, the person most hurt is yourself for you deny yourself reception of our Lord, Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity.

It was not the nature of the elements eaten at the Lord supper that determined a valid participation in the only manifest account in a church epistle of ther Lord's supper, but by showing the Lord's death by recognizing each other as being part of the body, by unselfish sharing in that Supper.

Despite the claims made for the Catholic Eucharist, my experience has been that it effects no real manifest change in the recipients.

>>So you missed the part where God tells us to go to church?<<

Could you show us scripture for that please? I can’t find anywhere in scripture that says that. The only thing I can find is “Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together” saying nothing of a “church building”.

What utter nonsense to think that they “receive Christ” in the Eucharist. Christ dwells within His believers. Why would they need to “receive” Him?

"Do this in REMEMBRANCE of me"

How hard is that to understand.

Where does God say that?
He does say we are to gather together in communion, worship, praise and prayer...
The church is people not a building.

“The church is people not a building.”

People as in plural, not singular. If you look to the bible as an example they worshiped together. Many examples of prayer done alone but they came together to worship.

Some references:

Hebrews 10:25 - Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some [is]; but exhorting [one another]: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

Hebrews 10:24 - And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:

Acts 2:42 - And they continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.

Hebrews 13:17 - Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that [is] unprofitable for you.

Matthew 18:20 - For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

Proverbs 27:17 - Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.

Acts 20:7 - And upon the first [day] of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight.

Matthew 18:19 - Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.

Matthew 16:18 - And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

>> People as in plural, not singular. If you look to the bible as an example they worshiped together. Many examples of prayer done alone but they came together to worship.<<

All of those people were meeting in someone’s home. Not one instance of a dedicated building. None of the verses you sited show and organized structure such as you seem to be promoting.

>> Matthew 16:18 - And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.<<

In Matthew 16 Jesus is talking to all of the Apostles. They were all asked the question of who they thought He was. Though Peter was the one who answered for the group Jesus was talking to them all. When Peter said that they believed He was “Christ the Son of the Living God” Jesus replied and said that it was not flesh and blood that had revealed that to Peter but that it was “my Father which is in heaven”. He then says to Peter “and thou art Peter”, acknowledging that He knew who Peter was just as Peter knew who Jesus was. Then Jesus, referring back to “my Father which is in heaven”, says, “upon this rock I will build my church”.

In other places in scripture Jesus is referred to as the “corner stone”, but the rock that the church is build on is the Father.

If you want reference to God as the Rock here are some verses.

Deut. 32:4 He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he.

2 Sam. 22:2 And he said, The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; 3 The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me from violence.

Psalm 18:31, "And who is a rock, except our God."

Isaiah 44:8, "Is there any God besides Me, or is there any other Rock? I know of none."

Well then you must not need other people to help you in your walk. Nor does anyone need your help.

Or your heart is hard.

hmmmmm

Now where in my post did you ever get the idea that I don’t meet with other Christians for worship and support? Or are you projecting to make yourself feel better?

It’s amazing isn’t it? Time and time again they inject what they want into what others say.

The word that is incorrectly translated as *church* in the Bible is really the word for *assembly* or *called out ones*.

True believers ARE the church, and where ever two or three are gathered together, Jesus promised to be there in the midst. Nobody needs to go somewhere to worship God any more. Nor does anyone have to go through certain ceremonies and rituals to have church. People can worship anywhere and any time with other believers and they have not forsaken the assembling of themselves together.

We are the temple of the Holy Spirit. It’s *Christ in you, the hope of glory* and Christ dwelling in our hearts. We carry this treasure in jars of clay (our bodies).

Christ Himself and St.Paul certainly didn't "think" it was "utter nonsense"(sic). What is utter nonsense is the ignorance of Scripture that abounds in the minds of the obtuse.

"This is the bread which cometh down from heaven; that if any man eat of it, he may not die. I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever; and the bread that I will give, is My flesh, for the life of the world. The Jews therefore strove among themselves, saying: How can this Man give us His flesh to eat? Then Jesus said to them: Amen, amen I say unto you: Except you eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink His blood, you shall not have life in you. He that eateth My flesh, and drinketh My blood, hath everlasting life: and I will raise him up in the last day. For My flesh is meat indeed: and My blood is drink indeed. He that eateth My flesh, and drinketh My blood, abideth in Me, and I in him. As the living Father hath sent Me, and I live by the Father; so he that eateth Me, the same also shall live by Me. This is the bread that came down from heaven. Not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead. He that eateth this bread, shall live for ever. These things he said, teaching in the synagogue, in Capharnaum. Many therefore of his disciples, hearing it, said: This saying is hard, and who can hear it? But Jesus, knowing in Himself, that His disciples murmured at this, said to them: Doth this scandalize you? If then you shall see the Son of man ascend up where He was before? It is the spirit that quickeneth: the flesh profiteth nothing. The words that I have spoken to you, are spirit and life. But there are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning, who they were that did not believe, and who He was, that would betray Him. And He said: Therefore did I say to you, that no man can come to Me, unless it be given him by My Father. After this many of his disciples went back; and walked no more with Him. Then Jesus said to the twelve: Will you also go away? And Simon Peter answered Him: Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life." John 6:50-69

Admit it, you would have been beating feet too.

"Therefore whosoever shall eat this bread, or drink the chalice of the Lord unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and of the blood of the Lord. But let a man prove himself: and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of the chalice. For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh judgment to himself, not discerning the body of the Lord." 1 Corinthians 11:27-29

"And account the longsuffering of our Lord, salvation; as also our most dear brother Paul, according to the wisdom given him, hath written to you: As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are certain things hard to be understood, which the unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, to their own destruction." 2 Peter 3:15-16

One more that you've missed, repeatedly.

"Understanding this first, that no prophecy of scripture is made by private interpretation. For prophecy came not by the will of man at any time: but the holy men of God spoke, inspired by the Holy Ghost." 2 Peter 1:20-21

Or your heart is hard.

Wow! Let's see whose heart is hard. Who is implying Peter is the Rock when they were given these Scriptures?

"And who is a rock, except our God."

"Is there any God besides Me, or is there any other Rock? I know of none."

Nor does anyone need your help.

CB just helped you and others who are reading this thread. Some don't know they NEED help because they are so deceived by man-made teachings. Catholics are VERY NEEDY with hard hearts to God and HIS WORD.
