Lord, we pray today for the men and women in our military, that You will give comfort to those who mourn, courage to those who are afraid, and faith to those who doubt.
Father, as we hear news of the women rescued from their kidnapper, we ask You to give them the healing and strength to go on from here. We pray also for anyone who is now suffering in a similar situation, that You would save them.
LORD, You reign forever; You have established Your throne for judgment. You will judge the world in righteousness and govern the peoples with justice. For You are He who avenges blood, and You always remember; You do not ignore the cry of the afflicted, or forget their tears. You are a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. Those who know Your Name will trust in You, for You, O LORD, have never forsaken those who seek You. So we will sing praises to the LORD, enthroned in Zion, and we will proclaim among the nations what You have done, in the Name of Jesus Christ, who died for all, Amen.
A call to prayer.

'The Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you All, amen.' (Rom. 16:24)
Because God wanted to make the unchanging nature of his purpose very clear to the heirs of what was promised, he confirmed it with an oath. God did this so that, by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the hope set before us may be greatly encouraged. (Hebrews 6:17-18)
