See, it is I who created the blacksmith who fans the coals into flame and forges a weapon fit for its work. And it is I who have created the destroyer to work havoc; no weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and this is their vindication from me, declares the LORD. (Isaiah 54:16-17)

Holy God, we gather here in Your Name, and in Your Name we pray.
Father, on this Armed Forces Day, we thank You for all whom You have raised up to defend our nation, from its beginning until now. We seek Your blessing on those who have fought, and who are fighting, for America.
Lord, in these past few weeks we have seen ugly truths come to light. Though we are sorry these things happened, we thank You that they are now being revealed. We know that when truth comes, healing becomes possible, and so we desire Your grace, that revelation may continue and that all of us may do what is right.
O LORD, who created the blacksmith who fans coals into flame and forges a weapon fit for its work, we praise You for the heritage You have given us, that no weapon forged against us will prevail. You are our Savior, the One who defends us, the One who redeems us. We will refute every tongue that accuses us, for this is our vindication from You. It is You, O God, who justifies; no one will bring any charge against those whom You have chosen. Christ Jesus who died, who was raised to life intercedes for us at Your right hand. By Him we are justified, through Him we receive the inheritance of those who are called by Your Name, and in His Name we pray, now and forever, Amen.

PRAYERS ASCENDING ON HIGH FOR OUR AMERICAN HEROES AND FOR OUR BELOVED NATION!
GEN. GEORGE WASHINGTON THE PRAYER AT VALLEY FORGE "Let Tyrants Shake Their Iron Rod" William Billings Mixed District Choir, Fairfax, Virginia (Click)
IN THE COLDEST and darkest days of the American Revolution, General George Washington raised his prayers for the survival of his beleaguered Army and of the new Nation. The Lord answered those prayers, upheld his Army through a punishing nadir to everlasting Glory, and bestowed His manifold benefits upon the new Nation. From the brave, untrained volunteers who strode into Valley Forge that Winter arose the cohesive fighting force that became the United States Army, world-wide defender of Freedom and scourge of Tyrants
AS GENERAL WASHINGTON lifted his prayers on high, let our prayers now rise like a fountain for our Heroes in the American Armed Forces who seek to secure the benefits of Freedom on behalf of a people hungry for them. Father, look on our prayers for them with favor, guide their steps in righteousness and envelop them in the shelter of Your Healing Wings. Bless and uphold them in the performance of their Mission. Through Jesus Christ, Your Son, with the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever, Amen.

HEAVENLY FATHER, Lord of the Nations, unto Your Divine Mercy we commend the souls of these valiant men and women who have fallen in the service of our Beloved Nation and in defense of the Freedoms we hold dear. We pray that You gather them in Your loving embrace, that You cause Your Countenance to shine upon them, and that You vouchsafe their souls to dwell eternally in Your Divine Presence. Through Jesus Christ Your Son, with the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever, Amen.
