Pray for our American Heroes and Nation

Holy God, thank You for sanctifying us spirit, soul and body. We are grateful that in this sanctification, we can shine forth Your light. We are a thankful people, always remembering how gracious You have been to us by translating us out of the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of Your dear Son. It brings us to our knees.

As we drop to our knees in awe of Your magnificent work through Jesus Christ, we are reminded of the multitudes of people in our Nation and in our military who don’t know what we know. With You, our hearts are full of sadness for this. You have inspired us to PRAY! Father, as You told us, we put You in remembrance of Your promises:

Isaiah 64:1, 2:Oh, that You would rend the heavens! That You would come down! That the mountains might shake at Your presence—As fire burns brushwood, As fire causes water to boil—To make Your name known to Your adversaries, That the nations may tremble at Your presence!
Let fall in showers, you heavens, from above, and let the skies rain down righteousness [the pure, spiritual, heaven-born possibilities that have their foundation in the holy being of God]; let the earth open, and let them [skies and earth] sprout forth salvation, and let righteousness germinate and spring up [as plants do] together; I the Lord have created it. (Is. 45:8)
Let us pursue the knowledge of the Lord. His going forth is established as the morning; He will come to us like the rain, Like the latter and former rain to the earth. (Hosea 6:3)
‘And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your young men shall see visions, Your old men shall dream dreams. And on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days; And they shall prophesy. I will show wonders in heaven above And signs in the earth beneath… And it shall come to pass That whoever calls on the name of the LORD Shall be saved.’ (Acts 2:17-21)

Bless You, Father, for this mighty outpouring of Light, Truth and revelation on us that we might be a Nation that praises You.

We pray for Mr. Issa today and ask You to strengthen him and give him Your discernment and wisdom. Show him, as an anointed servant of Yours, how to bring about truth and justice. Give him eyes to see and ears to hear truth.

Thank You, Father, for Your invitation to the very throne of God in Jesus’ name. Amen.

IN THE COLDEST and darkest days of the American Revolution, General George Washington raised his prayers for the survival of his beleaguered Army and of the new Nation. The Lord answered those prayers, upheld his Army through a punishing nadir to everlasting Glory, and bestowed His manifold benefits upon the new Nation. From the brave, untrained volunteers who strode into Valley Forge that Winter arose the cohesive fighting force that became the United States Army, world-wide defender of Freedom and scourge of Tyrants



AS GENERAL WASHINGTON lifted his prayers on high, let our prayers now rise like a fountain for our Heroes in the American Armed Forces who seek to secure the benefits of Freedom on behalf of a people hungry for them. Father, look on our prayers for them with favor, guide their steps in righteousness and envelop them in the shelter of Your Healing Wings. Bless and uphold them in the performance of their Mission. Through Jesus Christ, Your Son, with the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever, Amen.
