And to try some actual mission work for once.
Jody, the posting of this thread is hitting them in their hearts and they are hurting because it goes against their groups teachings...It's really too simple for the Roman Catholics, when all of their lives they have been told their salvation depends on their church and obedience to their church, and yadayadayada to their church, ad infinitum....Ack! Horse hooey! I'm not hurting from this post. I understand Jody was in a bad way, reached out for Christ, or vice versa, and she feels much relieved to have found Him. Catholicism isn't a one-minute or three-month deal, though. It is a lifetime "class" if you will, and the benefits keep mounting as long as one is willing to keep learning [listening to His Word], and receiving Our Lord, and obeying His Commandments to the best of their ability. The reason Catholicism is a stronger, more complete faith, is because we have the Sacraments, the Most Holy Body and Blood of Our Lord Jesus Christ, Reconciliation, and Eucharistic Adoration, to name three. Any Catholic that understands this would not be hurt by this post.
Thanks for posting again, wideawake.
Amen.
Meanwhile we're busy focusing on which brand of Christianity has the largest market share.
A quote from Pope Francis: Since many of you do not belong to the Catholic Church and others are non-believers, from the bottom of my heart I give this silent blessing to each and every one of you, respecting the conscience of each one of you but knowing that each one of you is a child of God.
Oh, if only such heartfelt sentiments were reciprocated by the anti-Catholics on this forum.
And vice-versa, Brian Kopp DPM. Do you not read the threads? Or do you just look up certain posters for their comments? Oh, to see you as you see yourselves.
You know the old saying “How can a billion people be wrong”?
LOL.
It’s the “Big Flock” mentality . Not satisfied to be part of the “Little Flock”, they insist that quantity trumps quality and has for 2000 years now.
Yeah, I could tell that from your plea to the RM. Evidently, your group can't stand the truth. You come back with rote and dogma, but can't see the "forest for the trees".
In this case, the forest is the truth of Salvation by faith in Jesus Christ instead of reliance on a bunch of your "horse hooey" from those doctrines of men.
FRiend, you can remain in your faith in your church. But, not all of us are so blind. You can work your way through all of the works and "keeping the law", but Paul spoke directly to you! I don't have any need for slavery to some doctrines like the Roman Catholic group requires. The Holy Spirit is my guide and Salvation comes through Christ alone!
Romans 8: 14 For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. 15 The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, Abba, Father. 16 The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are Gods children. 17 Now if we are children, then we are heirsheirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory. ...
... 37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
“It’s the world that is sinking, and what He promised about what would happen to this world is not a pretty thing.”
One day the world will end. That doesn’t mean we abandon the truth in the meantime.
“Meanwhile we’re busy focusing on which brand of Christianity has the largest market share.”
No, we’re focusing on the truth. That’s necessary.
This thread is predicated on non Catholics telling Catholics they are damned to hell for being Catholic.
I have not seen Catholics telling non Catholics they are damned to hell for not being Catholic.
I believe in Extra Ecclesia Nulla Salus. I also believe that, as the Church teaches, anyone baptized with water in the Trinitarian formula is baptized into the One True Church and therefore salvation is possible for them in God’s Providence.
That sentiment is not reciprocated by the anti-Catholic bigots who post and comment on threads like this.
Thus the appropriateness of my comment with which you wrongly take exception.
Pull up some of annalex's comments. Just for starters. When you're through wading through them, let me know. I'm certain there are more.

Talk about diviseness!
Who set you up as the judge and jury?
Never heard of that before.
Jesus said, “Come.” or “Follow me.” as he called the apostles.
I didn’t hear him say “Go your own way.”
Christ was a little edgy that way. He called people out to come to him.
OK, here's your big chance...
DO WHAT? in remembrance of me???
