A Colorado mom woke up recently to find a missed a call from the number 1-666-666-666. To make matters worse, she then received 48 text messages from "Satan."

The woman, Jenn Vest. was really freaked out. In fact, she said, "It really freaked me out because I was half asleep feeding my son and it woke me up. I thought maybe I was dreaming at first, and then I stayed up the rest of the night praying and hoping nothing would happen."

Google search results reveal that the phone number has been used to prank more than just the young mother.

“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour”
1 Peter 5:8

So I guess Peter was just “abstracting” there, eh?

The other day one of my my three cats was trying to get my attention, pacing around on the keyboard while I attempted to use the compter. In rapid succession she entered three keystrokes with her paw, then hit enter. The keys were 666 and since I was on the Google search page I got a gillion results for the antichrist. That cat can get real vindictive if she doesn’t get what she wants.

Just once, I thought it would have been funny if he actually wore 666 on his jersey.

The source is Breitbart. This is a factual i.e. non-fictional news story, meaning 'Satan' really did text this woman 48 times.

SATAN has fallen from popularity after the height of its popularity in the 1990s.

Heh ... I remember using SATAN/SANTA in the mid-late 1990s ... back when I wore a System Administrators hat. I switched career tracks somewhat. Had to ... the sysadm stuff, and the annoying idiot lusers were starting to turn me into the BOFH.

I’m an Old Testament believer. Therein, each appearance of the “devil” can easily be attributed to God Himself, but for Job, which most rabbinical sources feel to be a fictional account for illustrative purposes.

However, the United States could not have been founded without Christianity, so I’m forever thankful for it.

If the photo you posted in reply #1 is any clue, it's possible that through some detective work, it could be figured out who the guy pranking the call(s) is, though that photo itself is likely not from the phone which did the calling, in this instance, as it's also likely there was some phone-masking or spoof utilized to get the string of "6's" to appear.

If list of numbers called at about the same time (from "Satan") could be found, and assuming the numbers dialed be those the caller either knows, or knows of, then a web of contacts, interests (and possible animosities) could be made.

In the middle, could it be...?

ok. i've watched too many fictional "detective shows", but isn't all this sort of info, sort-of "elementary" by now? [my dear Watson]

Why this sort of thing seems to stumps some folks --- a guy wonders, "where have they been all their lives? hanging out in the back of turnip trucks?"

I'm here for the job opening i saw posted on the internets

(666) 666-6666 - the phone number of the Beast.

My brother is a retired chemistry teacher. He has a cat named Avogadro. That's the number of the beast.
