Pope Francis encouraged Muslims to find hope in the Qur’an. 11 things to know and share.
Harvesting the Fruit of Vatican II ^ | 1/21/2014 | Louie Verrecchio

1. While visiting with a group of refugees at the Sacred Heart parish in Rome on Sunday, Pope Francis said:

“Sharing our experience in carrying that cross, to expel the illness within our hearts, which embitters our life: it is important that you do this in your meetings. Those that are Christian, with the Bible, and those that are Muslim, with the Quran. The faith that your parents instilled in you will always help you move on.”

2. As Catholics, we understand that the “illness within our hearts” is more than just the anxiety and sadness that accompany all who mourn and weep in this valley of tears; rather, the true source of man’s embitterment is separation from God.

3. Jesus Christ alone is the Divine Physician by whose “stripes we are healed.” (cf Isa 53)

4. The Qur’an maintains that Our Blessed Lord is but a mere man and nothing more. It is, in other words, a book of blasphemous lies, offensive to Almighty God and to those who love Him in truth.

5. One may cling to the Qur’an until their dying breath, but apart from Jesus Christ and His Holy Catholic Church, there is no salvation.

6. Those parents who instilled in their children a “faith” in the false god of the Qur’an have accomplished little more than perpetuating a lie, consigning their offspring to death.

7. Jesus Christ commissioned His Church to baptize all nations in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost; teaching them to observe everything whatsoever that He has commanded.

8. The Vicar of Christ has a duty to carry out this mission.

9. Pope Francis failed both Our Lord and the Muslims to whom he spoke at Sacred Heart parish in Rome.

10. Pope Francis joined those Muslim parents in perpetuating a lie that essentially consigned their offspring to death.

11. We must pray and fast for the pope.

What now? Pass this along to those who as yet do not realize the extent of the crisis of faith besetting the Catholic Church in our day; the diabolical disorientation that has taken hold of the sacred hierarchy even to the highest offices in Rome, so they might know for what they must offer oblation in reparation for such grave offenses against the Sacred Heart of Our Blessed Lord.

what does it matter if I even ATTEND a church???

I think it only matters, in that a good church, is a good place for learning things like discipleship, evangelism, and is also a good place to fellowship with like minded believers. Being a member of ANY church, will not get anyone saved, and won't keep anyone saved. That is just the cold hard fact of life. I know many do not accept that, but that is not my problem.

Like all cults Rome must insist on salvation through their own organizational scheme.

We are told to gather together. The New Testament model is to do so.

Like all cults Geneva must insist on salvation through their own theological scheme.

“Like all cults Rome must insist on salvation through their own organizational scheme.”

Did you ever wonder who came up with this "scheme"?

"If he will not listen to the church, treat him as a pagan or tax collector." --Jesus

You can find this quote in the Bible that Christ's Church, wrote, preserved and canonized, unlike Luther's doctrine of "the Bible alone."

You can even find this quote in Luther's abridged version of the Bible.

Nice distortion of Scripture. Suggest you reread the entire passage.

“Actually, “Geneva” does no such thing.”

And Rome isn’t a cult (it’s a city, actually).

Yes I agree, it is good to go for those reasons. I developed a sort of backlash against it for awhile for a couple reasons I won’t go into now. Anyways, now that I’m older I’d love to go and learn and fellowship it’s just the Lord has not seen fit to help me with my sleep issues/schedule so I can never even wake up seeing as I go to sleep pretty close to when it starts. Wish they had afternoon/evening services:(

Pure papal opinions on ecumenism as just that- statements of tolerance, not dogma. We’ve had enough of the heresies of Protestantism from the David Koresh’s to Jim Jones to Joel Osteens.

Papal opinions are statements of tolerance.

Protestants statements are heresy

Okkkkkkkkkkkkkk................

If I am a child of God saved by the Lord himself through belief, faith, repentence and accepting His spirit into my heart what does it matter if I even ATTEND a church???

While there can be times when you cannot physically go to a church, as i myself right now, it is not normative not to be part of a church. We are saved by grace as contrite damned+destitute sinners coming to Christ, trusting Him to save us on His blood-expense and credit, which faith is counted for righteousness, (Rm. 3:8-4:7ff)

However, the only faith is such is that which effects the obedience of faith, which confesses Christ in word and in deed. (Mt. 10:32; Rm. 10:9,10)

Which is shown in worship, devotion, prayer and sanctification and service. Thus those ,

that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls. And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers. (Acts 2:41-42)

When you were born again, then you were baptized into the body of Christ, (1Cor. 12:13) which in Scripture is manifest in organic communities. For Christ did not build some well running parts, but a church upon Himself, with which to prevail against the gate of Hell. (Mt. 16:18; Eph. 2:20)

And which army is not a bunch of isolated parts: "For the body is not one member, but many." (1 Corinthians 12:14) "Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. (Hebrews 10:25) By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. (John 13:35)

Thus the normative means of expressing faith in Christ is by being part of a community, worshiping and praying together, in addition to what we do by ourselves.

Words from a hard heart. You need to read Gods word and find truth. And pray for wisdom and guidance.

Judgment is for God but Christ gave the Great Commission to St. Peter and his successors to teach ONE truth. These teachings tell us how we get to God in union with his Mother, the saints and martyrs. What you think your “Baptist Church taught you all things Biblical,” is no different than what Rev. Moon tells the congregants of his Church, or what the Anglican Church teaches, or Lutherans, or the corner street Four Square First Church of Calvary or whatever they want to call themselves teach. I am sure your Baptist Church does not believe in the “Holy Eucharist” based on the Scriptural reading “as interpreted by the Catholic Church,” that unless you eat of My Flesh and drink of My blood you shall not have life everlasting.

"Tolerance" has no part in the Kingdom of God and anything that contradicts the catholic cult's false teachings is "heresy." We get it. We also know God... PERSONALLY. God does NOT "tolerate" sin. God does NOT "tolerate" evil. God does NOT "tolerate" blaspheme of the Holy Ghost, other gods, false teachers, false prophets, or false religion. The catholic cult welcomes all of the things God hates and more. The catholic cult knows as much about God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit as any muslim, jehovah's witness, mormon or scientologist.
Be not deceived... The first "pontifex maximus" of the babylonian religion known now as the Catholic "Church" was Nimrod. The one modern catholics worship as the first pope never even set foot in Rome until he was crucified. A little detail catholics don't like to see. Look... If one wishes to follow false teachers and false doctrines that is fine, they're free to do so but I'd suggest that those that do do a little research into the history of their chosen club. Trying to lump the cult leaders david koresh, jim jones, joel osteen, moon or others alongside other protestant sects is akin to protestants pointing out that it is the catholic cult that hunted down and murdered tens of millions during the Spanish inquisition. Or the fact that Adolph Hitler was first a "Catholic."

A "Christian" is a person that has received Jesus Christ as their savior, willfully makes Him their Lord by being baptized in the Holy Spirit and receiving from God through Jesus Christ via the Holy Spirit in all things.
Mary the mother of Jesus, the pope, a nun, pastor, imam, sensei, jim jones, david koresh, al shapton, or any other "holy man/woman" will NOT get you as close to God as Jesus Christ will nor will they get you into the Kingdom of God. In fact... If you do not know Jesus Christ you will NEVER know God.
If you do not know God/Jesus Christ - aka - the Word/The Holy Spirit (these three are one 1 John 5:7 KJV) you're NOT getting into or seeing the Kingdom of God.

Not my rules. They're His.

What's wrong with the truth - ">> The quran, catechisms, et al will get you or anyone else into the Kingdom of God."

Gene Eric - "I guess it’s a good thing you’re not to be taken seriously."

I meant to say, "The quran, catechisms, the book of mormon, communist manifesto, confucius nor any other false teachings will get you or anyone else into the Kingdom of God.'"
My finger must not have pushed down on the "N" hard enough in the word nor and I missed it when I reread it. Sorry to confuse you.
As for not being taken seriously ha ha.... The truth rarely is. No sweat off my brow. Sorry to disappoint you again. ;)
