Show me, O LORD, my life's end and the number of my days; let me know how fleeting is my life. You have made my days a mere handbreadth; the span of my years is as nothing before you. Each man's life is but a breath. Man is a mere phantom as he goes to and fro: He bustles about, but only in vain; he heaps up wealth, not knowing who will get it.
But now, Lord, what do I look for? My hope is in you. (Psalm 39:4-7)
TOPICS: Religion & Culture
KEYWORDS: america; military; pray
Father in heaven, we come to You in Christ's Name, and through Him we pray.
Lord, we say a special prayer today for all in our military who are married. We know that it is You who make the two one, and we ask You to guide these married men and women to love, faithfulness, and happiness in their unions.
Father, we pray for the leaders of our nation legislators, executives, and judges, at every level. We ask You to give them wisdom, to turn their hearts toward You, and to teach them what is just and right.
Show us, O LORD, our life's end and the number of our days; let us know how fleeting are our lives. You have made our days a mere handbreadth. The span of our years is as nothing before You the Ancient of Days, the everlasting God, who has neither beginning of days nor end of life. Before You, man is a mere phantom as he goes to and fro: He bustles about, but only in vain; he heaps up wealth, not knowing who will get it. But now, Lord, what do we look for? Our hope is in You. You have set eternity in our hearts, and we ask You to grant it to our souls that we may live even as Christ lives, that we may share our Master's happiness forever. We praise You the God of life and the Lord of eternity in the Name of Jesus our Savior, Amen.

Joining you in your hauntingly beautiful prayer for our military members, their spouses, and leaders of our nation.
(I want to put this Psalm in picture frame and hang it up in my house. Thank you for posting it. God bless you.)
