Psalm 71:5 For Thou art my hope; O Lord GOD, my trust from my youth. . . Bless the LORD, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless His Holy Name!
Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits
so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's. Psalm 103:1-2, 5
TOPICS: Prayer
KEYWORDS: military
PRECIOUS LORD, GOD OF ALL MERCY AND GRACE, who CHANGES NOT, whose LOVE is everlasting, whose SALVATION is ETERNAL, whose MERCY endures forever. We lift up prayers of Hope and Renewal for each and every one of our Beloved Heroes. OH LORD, I offer up a special prayer for my son. LORD, help him, help them, remember THY GOODNESS and THY GRACE. Help them to search their hearts and come to this one and only conclusion: BLESS THE LORD, BLESS HIS HOLY NAME. Dear LORD, we thank you that you have spoken these words: Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven. Renew in the hearts of our heroes the LOVE and JOY that was theirs as children when they first believed with no hindrances from this world, pure faith abiding. OH LORD, this kind of trust is what makes a humble servant strong, a fearful heart brave, and a weakened spirit soar
Amen.
And LORD, oh how we pray for those who know THEE not. Whisper in their heart YOUR WORDS of invitation: Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. (Matt. 18:3). For ultimately this the destiny that lives in us, for YOU HAVE PUT ETERNITY IN OUR HEARTS
AMEN. May they desire YOUR KINGDOM above all else. AMEN. May even this day, THY KINGDOM COME to those who are outside the gates. AMEN.

Psalm 131:2 But I have calmed and quietened my soul, like a weaned child with its mother; like a weaned child is my soul within me. . . Please join me in prayer today, surrounding our beloved heroes in prayer. Thank You for your faithfulness toward them today and every day. Love, Jean

Lie Down
February 25, 2014
Read: Exodus 20:8-11
Our golden retriever can get so overly excited that he will go into a seizure. To prevent that from happening, we try to calm him. We stroke him, speak to him in a soothing voice, and tell him to lie down. But when he hears lie down, he avoids eye contact with us and starts complaining. Finally, with a dramatic sigh of resignation, he gives in and plops to the floor.
Sometimes we too need to be reminded to lie down. In Psalm 23, we learn that our Good Shepherd makes us lie down in green pastures and leads us beside the still waters. He knows that we need the calm and rest that these provide, even when we dont realize it ourselves.
Our bodies are designed to have regular rest. God Himself rested on the seventh day after His work of creation (Gen. 2:2-3; Ex. 20:9-11). Jesus knew there was a time to minister to the crowds and a time to rest. He instructed His disciples to come aside . . . and rest a while (Mark 6:31). When we rest, we refocus and are refreshed. When we are filling every hour with activityeven with worthwhile thingsGod often gets our attention by making us lie down.
Rest is a gifta good gift from our Creator who knows exactly what we need. Praise Him that He sometimes makes us lie down in green pastures.
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your
care for our well-being in every area
of our lives. Help us to be rested
and refreshed in You.
If we dont come apart and rest awhile, we may just plain come apart! Havner

PRAYERS ASCENDING ON HIGH FOR OUR AMERICAN HEROES AND FOR OUR BELOVED NATION!
GEN. GEORGE WASHINGTON THE PRAYER AT VALLEY FORGE "Let Tyrants Shake Their Iron Rod" William Billings Mixed District Choir, Fairfax, Virginia (Click)
IN THE COLDEST and darkest days of the American Revolution, General George Washington raised his prayers for the survival of his beleaguered Army and of the new Nation. The Lord answered those prayers, upheld his Army through a punishing nadir to everlasting Glory, and bestowed His manifold benefits upon the new Nation.

FROM THE BRAVE, albeit weary, ill-equipped, and untrained volunteers who marched into Valley Forge on 19 December 1777 arose, with the help of some gallant friends from across the waves, the cohesive fighting force that became the United States Army, global defender of Freedom and scourge of Tyrants.
AS GENERAL WASHINGTON lifted his prayers on high in that bleak Winter, let our prayers now rise like a fountain for our Heroes in the American Armed Forces who seek to secure the benefits of Freedom on behalf of a people hungry for them. Father, look on our prayers for them with favor, guide their steps in righteousness and envelop them in the shelter of Your Healing Wings. Bless and uphold them in the performance of their Mission. Through Jesus Christ, Your Son, with the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever, Amen.

HEAVENLY FATHER, Lord of the Nations, unto Your Divine Mercy we commend the souls of these valiant men and women who have fallen in the service of our Beloved Nation and in defense of the Freedoms we hold dear. We pray that You gather them in Your loving embrace, that You cause Your Countenance to shine upon them, and that You vouchsafe their souls to dwell eternally in Your Divine Presence. Through Jesus Christ Your Son, with the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever, Amen.
