Why should I believe in a being whose existence can't be proven?

An excellent question and one I wish I had a better answer for or a tool, a meter or some form of detector we could use that would give us the results we all could agree about.

As background, I had this debate for years with my dad, an atheist or later perhaps agnostic, but I never could give him the "proof" his rational mind was looking for that would let him say that "God exists".

There is a level shift of consciousness required in order to "see" the proof you're asking for. It's not unlike the hierarchy of education where those at the bottom cannot fathom the truths that those at the top innately understand. For example, algebra and calculus do not exist for someone who cannot do basic mathematics.

Without this level shift of consciousness that lets us "see" what our senses cannot see, one option is to be more like scientists who must test for the existence of something that is beyond our senses' limited ability to perceive it. Paradoxically, you have to believe it to "see" it.

If you are interested in the basic laws of the universe, you might find The Kyballion of interest and value.

If you are interested in "proofs" regarding the supernatural God, and also of Satan, another option I've found helpful is the anecdotal "proof" found in the many stories of near death experiences, those of people who've died and came back with a story to tell.

I've been reading True Life In God and have almost finished it. In it, the Triune God speaks to us in our time as He did in the past. I recommend it, but others will call it heresy.

Remember, just because two people can agree that the sky is blue, neither is having the same blue sky experience. Neither is experiencing the "blue sky" experience the same way. This is true for virtually everything in this matrix.

Seeking and finding God is a personal journey, but the enemy is highly motivated to keep you from taking it and to tripping you up along the way. In this, we are all brothers and sisters, none better than another, in my humble opinion. Fortunately, we all have help from the One who created us.

I've enjoyed your posts on this thread and the discussions and comments that have come as a result. Thanks!
