Im not a reprobate and yes I would be extremely uncomfortable with these questions.
Dont preach to me.
Since you have determined that these questions make you uncomfortable, have you ever asked yourself?
This wouldn’t be an easy situation, especially if one had to write a ticket.
But I could think of other ways to witness, like telling someone who had gotten no ticket (or only a warning) “God bless you.” One has to take into account credibility issues as well.
why?
Questions coming from whom?
If the Westburros demanded this of me at gunpoint how do you think MY attitude would be? Though I would hope I would be bold enough to stick them back with their own question!
because i don’t speak about anything personal with strangers. That’s personal!
Also there is another kind of reprobate who pats himself on the back for his spiritual scalps. “Ah, I argued him down in the name of Christ.”
Well no they probably didn’t. If the best thing one can say about the gospel is that it’s a respite from bad news that one has to hype up oneself... that it is “not-hell” — one probably really doesn’t know gospel. Gospel should be constantly showing you a better way to live, a better way that you can then share with your neighbor.
I didn’t ask you to say anything to me, just if you asked yourself. There is a reason that you feel uncomfortable with this. It’s easy to find out why. I certainly hope that you will.
Well better a little roadside faith than jerking people out of their cars and tasing them to death. But I think a little counseling on police procedure might have been better than firing.
um, what? I’m not sure this applies to me.
thanks for your concern.
It was a pathetic response to this 14 year veteran and will , in all probability, be overturned. If they don’t do that, he will find immediate employment by a local sheriff or police agency.....possibly a private security firm.....he just won’t get to wear that cool Mountie hat!!
Talking about the one that was giving us static about people being reprobates.
Well they asked him nicely once.
Frankly if I were the preacher of that church, I’d say there is a right and wrong time
Is that even legal? Giving your name and address to total strangers when you weren't even given a ticket? I can see why she was cheesed!
Sorry. Totally inappropriate. The only time a cop should worry about someone being”saved” while on the job, is just before he drops the hammer. I don’t see preachers serving warrants, either.
okay, got it! thanks, I was a little confused. (and yeah!)
It is wrong for this fired trooper to be using his position to ask anyone about their faith or suggest they go to his church And to put a drivers name on a prayer list is outrageous
Pray for him all you want. This guy is waaaaay out of line
Precisely.
If he wasn’t a to be s preacher find a church or a street corner
Unfair. I would have been uncomfortable with a public official questioning me about my beliefs. He has no business doing so.
Proselytizing on the job is beyond offensive.
