What a shame, after 14 years, and he won’t get any retirement ben.

Yea he will, he's vested in their retirement plan..........

You do not know history

Continue with your indignation all you want. This trooper was acting in an outrageous manner

The result of mixing church and state is, and always will be until Christ returns and really can rule the world, just gagulously wretched.

It (1) Dumbs the church down; and (2) Whitewashes the state.

Certain denominations insist on aggressive recruitment. Others believe it is attraction rather than promotion

I agree

If he wished to pray for the soul of dying accident victims etc then God bless him

But cold call proselytizing folks he pulls over would likely not even have been permitted in my youth way back when daydream believer was a top 40 hit

Well there’s the old adage about how the anger of man does not accomplish the righteousness of God. 99% of people would misunderstand even if he means well.

If I want to look like I’m wearing Jesus’ garments, I probably will want to take Caesar’s robes off first.

And that is what your denomination preaches at you. Other denominations teach that the light of my light will shine through and lead people to ask questions

The US is NOT a theocracy

He put the name and contact information of someone he stopped in an unauthorized location. Don’t think that’s going to fly anywhere

It would have been a matter of lively conversation, even if it had been tolerated in some quarters. There would be a lot of strangers saying this is a literal hell of a way to evangelize.

Unless the city itself was willing to let everybody off of traffic tickets in exchange for accepting a copy of the church’s business card, or some nondiscriminatory maneuver like that.

Which is a move that would really say something.

I will also. It was his way of saying take care. I hear “Bless You” and other kind remarks every day but don’t take them as an offense. A friend was speeding one morning before she arrived at work and the police kindly reminded her that life is too precious to take a chance at speeding. He was trying to save her life not be judgmental. I think the same goes for this policeman.

I dunno about "offensive", but DEFINITELY inappropriate.

What was this guy thinking?

Very stupid, IMO.

It opens a Pandora's box for litigation.

Yeah the officer pulled me over and asked if I am saved.

I said no, and he arrested me.

Works the other way, too.

Only letting "saved" drivers off.

I admit it's better than asking for sexual favors, but still unbecoming of an officer.

I didn’t bring up Muzzies.

I didn’t justify the cops question, just made a comment about the what the lady said.

I’m tired of people being offended. If it is wrong, just say that.

“Ms. Pyle was extremely uncomfortable with these questions,”

Reprobates usually are.

What a nasty thing to say about someone you don't even know.

Grossly inappropriate behavior. If this officer does not understand why, then it is probably a good thing that he is now looking for another job.

On a side note; I find some of the comments above seriously disturbing. It appears that there are quite a few people on this thread who think it is fine for sworn officers to be pushing their religion while in uniform and interacting with citizens in an official capacity.

Hell, most of the posters here don’t understand why it’s inappropriate and unconstitutional.

It (1) Dumbs the church down; and (2) Whitewashes the state.

(3) Oppresses the people.
