This pope couldn’t be more confused, even if he tried. Maybe he is a trans-pope? You know, a confused, mentally ill pope.

He's not confused. He knows exactly what's he's doing. Just like Obama.

“As a Protestant, I have been told by a few Roman Catholic on this forum, I am damned to hell because I don’t belong to the one true Roman Catholic Church”

The Catholic Church is the one true church. It is based on the teaching of Jesus Christ and has a rich 2000 year tradition.

The Catholic Church was founded by Jesus Christ and the apostles.

One evil man does not destroy the one true church. One evil man does not negate the founding by Jesus Christ.

Anyone who said you were “damned to hell” is wrong.

As a Protestant we are brothers in Christ and share a Christian tradition.

Francis is evil. The church founded by Jesus Christ is not.

“As a Protestant, I have been told by a few Roman Catholic on this forum, I am damned to hell because I don’t belong to the one true Roman Catholic Church...”

“It follows that these separated churches and Communities, though we believe they suffer from defects, are deprived neither of significance nor importance in the mystery of salvation. In fact the Spirit of Christ has not refrained from using them as instruments of salvation, whose value derives from that fullness of grace and of truth which has been entrusted to the Catholic Church”— Pope B16, Dominus Iesus

Next time tell them to take it up with the Popes.

Bingo. Definitely not Catholic.

Personally, experiencing the loss of two friends from the Church over this odd ball found tramping around the faith and the halls of the Vatican.

So, we have a little apostasy going on and it’s laid at his feet, at least as the catalyst.

It is heartbreaking, but Christians are so soft today particularly in the West. When things get hard and pose much of a challenge, it is made easy here to bolt.

The good news is that it is cause for the old timers, including many younger families who are exposed to it all, appreciate the pre-Vatican II days of the Traditional Catholic Church, the old Latin Mass and the flourish of vocations to the priesthood and the beauty of the old churches, the Communion rail, the piety of the old Mass and the beautiful prayers, and frankly, the dispatch of the women from the sacristy and the Altar, into the pews and into their homes to properly catechize their children in the daily practice of the Faith.

Who knows what marvelous works God shall will, in the midst of the obvious dilution and dissolution and confusion seemingly befalling the Church and the sorrowing faithful, now.

There have been bad popes (about 8 - 10 *really* bad, by my count, when I was counting) as well as many weak, ineffective, or compromised ones, plus a rather large number of saints and blesseds, over the past 2000 years. Read a good Catholic history: after the shock passes, it steadies one.

(I recommend the Christendom series by Warren Carroll.)

One doesn’t unite oneself to Christ’s Church because of a saint and scholar in the Roman See, or dis-unite oneself because of a fool or a knave. Concentrate on living a full and faithful Catholic life where you are.

Pau close attention to the multitudes of glorious Saints. Many lived in times like ours (”All times are dangerous times,” said St. Teresa of Avila) and by their precept as well as their example, they tell us: “Live as a good Catholic. Draw closer and closer to Christ.”

As for church-related giving? Give locally. Always locally. SVdeP or a Pregnancy Support center -— always a good bet.

As a Catholic, I am appalled by this pope. The sooner he is gone, the better for the church.

I am an evangelical, and rarely post on religious topics. The following question may be inappropriate, so please feel free to ignore it.

To wit, if the cardinals didn’t want a very liberal Pope, why did they elect a South American Jesuit?

As a Protestant we are brothers in Christ and share a Christian tradition.

As far as I am concerned, any Catholic is my brother in Christ...

Though I do not see the need for a Pope or a priest to absolve me of my sin...and salvation of my soul...

Christ alone does that...by his blood and death...

Though we may differ on theological points, if you call Christ your Savior, you are my brother...

You have a choice, follow Christ or follow the Catholic Church. This is not the first time they’ve strayed; it won’t be the last.

Pope Francis, in an interview with the French newspaper La Croix, suggested a likeness between ISIS and Jesus by explaining that while “the idea of conquest is inherent in the soul of Islam,” it was quite possible to interpret certain passages of the Gospels, particularly in Matthews, as a call for Christians to go forth with this “same idea of conquest” in their discipleship.

He also faulted the free market for driving poverty, saying economies need “a state to monitor and balance them;” gun manufacturers for fueling wars; and the failures of Christians in Europe to properly assimilate with Muslims as causing much of the tensions of recent times – ostensibly, to include acts of terror.

FUPF.

It's time to forcibly remove this punk.

Trivia Question: Can a Pope be excommunicated? If so, by whom or what body of deliberation? His remarks don’t only sound crazy, they sound insulting. Likening Jesus with ISIS??? ...Nurse!!
