That's part of the problem, right there.
And what is a "temple"? A place where someone comes and prays.
The Church as a whole, as well, is a temple of the Holy Spirit, Who dwells in her and gives her life.
"direct relationship with him as revealed in the New Testament"
Catholics wrote, compiled, canonized, and protected the NT via tradition and the magisterium.
Nowhere in the Gospels does Christ instruct his Disciples to "write" anything.
He tells them to go and teach all nations.
Having the faith to stick with Catholic Doctrine and not be swayed by the scandals of man, is the answer.
The Bishop’s spine is strengthened with support from the congregation and prayer.
We have stop using our collections envelopes and will no longer give to any Diocese Charities.
1) That won’t stop the situation. There will be those that continue to empower the homosexuals by being “faithful”
2) Even if the money stops, they will consume the remaining wealth for their purposes. They won’t change. Only one time in Biblical history that I can find where the leadership and people repented, so it is possible but... .
3) So then we are left with , “what does God say on the matter?” You did use the word charitable (or Charities) so you raise a good question. If one stops giving to institutional charity (which can be full of mischief) what does God say we should do?
‘So at the end of the day they will probably get away with it.’
yep; the laity have been sheep so long, they have no clue as to how a wolf acts...
Gods answer to the corruption during Jesus time was to destroy the priestly system, the temple and the sacrificial system. and put in place a NEW COVENANT.
So G-d’s going to rip up chrstianity and start a third religion? Wonder what it will be.
And yes, He has destroyed institutions repeatedly and started over with a remnant... ..
‘We have stop using our collections envelopes and will no longer give to any Diocese Charities.’
good start; it will force the Dioceses to use their funds more judiciously...yes, people and programs will be hurt by this, who have done nothing to contribute to this scandal, but it needs to happen...
I am telling my fellow(former, actually)parishioners they need to stop attending church services; the scared and scandalized looks on their faces says a great deal about the enormity of such a move...
And just what makes you think that the prophesied new covenant is what we know today as the "new testament?" Because that's the name written on the title page?
What about the renewal of the Torah under Ezra? Or the coming messianic era? But you just can't understand that the "new testament" is not self evidently true or self evidently the fulfillment of Biblical prophecy.
And yes, He has destroyed institutions repeatedly and started over with a remnant... ..
I wonder what the new, non-chrstian replacement religion is going to be.
Nobody cares. Just a few loud conservatives. It will all be forgotten in a week .
They will nit pic, obfuscate and lie until this blows over.
And they will succeed.
They have centuries of practice.
Assumes facts not in evidence.
YOU ARE WRONG!
j Catholics protect and defend God's Word and we don't pretend the meaning changes to suit each individual ego.
Ping.
**It will all be forgotten in a week . **
No, I don’t think that is true.
We want our One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church back full of purity.
Pray the Rosary and ask our Blessed Mother to send us help.
Nowhere in the Gospels does Christ instruct his Disciples to “write” anything.
And there is the one place (Christ speaking)
Rev_21:5 And the One sitting on the throne said, “Look, I am making everything new!” And then He said to me, “Write this down, for what I tell you is trustworthy and true.”
**- In writing to our Bishops, **
Putting it on paper is so important.
Archbishop Vigano did what he did in the hopes that it would help other people to come forward. He has fled Italy and is now in hiding, in fear of his life. He has opened the path. Others should follow it. SPEAK UP. EXPOSE ALL OF THEM.Very much a call to prayer for Viganò and for discernment for painful disclosures.
Good one!
Yes, Prayers for Archbishop Vigano are in order.
