It doesnt make them sound pompous. It makes them sound shallow. They only have one or two arrows in their quiver so they have to keep repeating themselves. Uh oh got close to the Truth here. Better distract quickly. Look! Luther! See I can be a Catholic too!

Why are you changing the subject?
You started with a question about how to settle disputes among believers. I answered that and told you what church I would take it to.
Why are you bringing your church doctrine into a discussion of settling personal disputes among believers?
Pontius Pilate asked Jesus the same question.
That should give you pause for thought.
” An alien living among you who wants to celebrate the LORDs Passover must do so in accordance with its rules and regulations. You must have the same regulations for the alien and the native-born. “
Num. 9:14
The wine and bread were wine and bread to the Jews.
Catholics cannot try to get away with calling it something else.

Matthew 14:28
Lord, if its you, Peter (4074 [e], Petros) replied, tell me to come to you on the water.
You can wish all you want, but if you really wanted to know the truth you would do the research yourself and would see that rome has lied to you about many other things also.

Especially amusing/annoying are the cases where the pagan traditions do not predate the Christian/Jewish ones yet are attributed to be the source of Christian traditions.
