For most of us, the last week has felt like a lifetime. In the course of eight days, we've lost the Senate and an election challenge, watched as angry people stormed the Capitol and equally angry leaders impeached the president. We've seen the crushing of our voice, the silencing of our freedoms, and felt the wave of corporate punishment start to roll across the country. Americans are so badly shaken that 80 percent of them think the country is falling apart. And church leaders, political leaders, and Christians aren't far behind.
The choice before us is as plain as it was in 1947, when Senate Chaplain Peter Marshall looked at the chamber of leaders and asked whether it would be "Christ or chaos, conviction or compromise, discipline or disintegration?" Then, as now, America was at a crossroads -- and how you and I respond will have a lot to do with whether a broken, hurting, and frustrated people find the healing we desperately need.
This nation is in a political and cultural dilemma -- and it's only going to get worse. There are powerful people in this country coming for your rights, your platforms, your very livelihood. And they're using what happened at the Capitol as an excuse to shut Christians down -- permanently. Right now, we have a choice: we can fight the world's way, or we can fall to our knees in prayer, recognizing that what this country faces is beyond our ability to solve. Ultimately, there's only one solution to this battle, and it's spiritual.

And accurate.
Sorry if it makes you squeamish.
Also don't really care.
Enjoy Turnip Commune 37. I hear they will have Struggle Sessions every day. Let us hope they don't torture your grandchild with a heated spatula before having you for dinner.
Evil is my enemy. The Democrat Party is evil. the Democrat Party is my enemy. Democrat individuals male up the Democrat Party therefore Democrats are evil. Murdering unborn babies in their mother’s womb is evil. i am not friends with those that do that nor am I friends with those that advocate for those that do that. Like Job in the Bible I hade evil and love good. Murders and rapists also I ma not friends with.
There are two kingdoms: Kingdom of light and kingdom of darkness
I agree with the premise. Even if , lets say, a majority of dems are decent people and do just want to get along; their elected representatives want all dissention stifled. They want conformity of thought, words, and action. They do not want debate, discourse, or competition in anything. Period. The would honestly like us dead and then to confiscate any of our wealth that is remaining.
You cannot reason with that. You cannot get along with that. You have to fight it.
“Having said that, my daily prayer is, God save the United States. Lord, have mercy.”
That’s my only prayer, now.
mr perkins, brother, if you just go back the Bible, Jesus, lays it out perfectly. exactly what does a Christian, namely me, have to do, given the events of the last 3 mos? i had to answer that question for myself before i could even comment here at all. the fraud election in Nov. requires action and a strategy of resistance, but what does God say?
so i’ll present a quick summary of my own Bible study (which you need to do your own of course) which justifies for me my future actions, i.e., what legitimate power i will exert to resist this evil while obeying God. what follows is my interpretation and thesis:
1. Moral Authority is required for any group or individual (king) which claims the right, under God, to exert legitimate governing power over a group of people. with freewill a people can either reject the power or consent to it. Earthly authority can also be claimed, which can be legitimate, and thus accepted by the people, but an earthly gov’t won’t necessarily be moral. an easy example is that God clearly has the Moral Authority to govern me, and i also consented to His government when i publicly repented of my past evil and selfishness and asked Jesus to forgive my sins, become born again and receive the Holy Spirit.
the question is asked and answered many times in the Bible. from whom or what do you derive your authority to act, to exert power. Jesus clearly delineated the source of His Authority, the Father, and that’s what the Pharisees and Sadducees hated. they denied that He had the authority to do what he was doing. and claimed their authority to stop Him was derived from proprietary studies and a deeper understanding and interpretation of God’s Word.
thus they reasoned, Jesus did not have authority to work His Father’s miracles, no matter how spectacular a witness they were, because His Authority was different than theirs.
but, as earthly rulers (in my view) their authority was accepted by the Roman occupiers and the Jewish people, and was therefore legitimate, i would argue, based on Jewish notions of gov’t.
2. Jesus said very simply and beautifully, “Render unto Caesar, what is Caesar’s, and render unto God what is God’s. simple but profound. that is our responsibility to a gov’t that is properly authorized. the authorization is from either from God or claimed by an earthly government which depends on the form of gov’t we’re talking about. but, that statement basically draws two lines. two lines that you don’t cross with a legitimate ruler and remain obedient to God: God’s or Caesar’s. but what happens if Caesar’s line is illegitimate? then i believe God says it can be moral (depending on the means) to resist that Caesar. (how to resist practically is an entirely different matter.)
3. no middle ground: Jesus said you’re either with Him or against him. so i read that as you either have to resist evil or join it. there is no neutral position that is moral. that eliminates the “hide yourself under a rock and hope the bad guys go away” position. it’s also the argument for the virtue of courage over cowardice.
those three principles lead me directly to my thesis, which is we have the right and duty (under God) resist moral evil in an illegitimate gov’t, but only through moral means.
with that argument, i find must resist this illegitimate gov’t morally or give up my Christianity. i’m not giving up Jesus. period.
How about we do both!
Get on our needs and implore God to forgive us and save us and fight like hell for our country!!
Democrats are my enemy. Lincoln Project turncoats are my enemy. The media is definitely my enemy.
You are right. I have xed out my sister and her disgusting commie husband from my life after they basically tried to lecture me that politics is more important than family. So I abliged dem.
The answer is cognitive dissonance. This is the name of the mental disorder plaguing leftists (i.e. democrats) and it is a mental disorder.

This article reminds me of a Newsmax show last night, “Spicer & Company”. (BTW - how did Spicer get his own show? He’s dreadful. It’s dreadful.)
Dick Morris was the guest (wearing bright pink with a delicate orchid behind him ???) and said that even if Trump doesn’t attend the inauguration, he and Melania should INVITE BIDENS TO TEA in the White House before the ceremony. Seriously. Invite into your home the person who has robbed you.
Then Spicer’s co-host, some airhead named Lindsey or similar, said something like, “That would be a wonderful gesture.”
Some people don’t get it still.
People that serve Satan are NOT my friend. They collaborated with the CCP to murder 350,000 Americans (if you believe the stats) SOLELY to get rid of Trump and to seize political power. They have the rest of you wearing masks like a bunch of damn dogs. Yeah...we’re not each other’s enemies. I’ll have some of whatever you’re smoking, Mr. Perkins.
Americans in general are off-the-charts naive. Always believe that “it” can’t happen here. Well, “it” IS happening here. Just like the jews in Europe during the ‘30’s..they could not believe “it” was happening in the citadel of western civilization. Did not end well.
We didn’t start out to be their enemies. They declared themselves to be our enemies. They have set up this fight to the death in motion, and they will eventually lose.
Yep. It's a mix of spiritual and physical. We are called to "do right in his eyes," and sometimes doing right is brutal.
The human condition inevitably has conflciting and competing commands. His will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Ask for guidance, pray for guidance.
I would more say that the solution involves the spiritual armor of God - plus a few reshaped plowshares.
It’s war..
Perkins is making a fool of himself. No surprising, given his eschatology.
That is a great quote/verse from Franklin. Suitable for memorization I suppose.
