At the request of President Bush, the Senate passed S. 778, the Section 245(i) extension bill by unanimous consent on Thursday night. Section 245(i) permits illegal aliens who have established an employment or familial relationship while in the U.S. illegally to adjust their status with the INS after payment of a $1,000 fee. It also allows illegal aliens to avoid the State Department background checks for other immigrants coming from overseas.

What may I ask do we have borders for and why may I ask to we have a military?

George the second is smelling more and more like George the first each and every day.

At the time of his approach to Red China, Richard Nixon (a REPUBLICAN for those of you from Rio Linda) was approached by an internationalist businessman who was literally salivating over the prospect of access to the BILLIONS of potential Chinese slave laborers and “customers” (although this rocket scientist had apparently not yet concluded that the Chinese people would be hard pressed to buy his stuff without MONEY!!!!).

This businessman was concerned that Nixon had been SAYING that he was cooling to the idea of an opening to Red China to quell the uprising within the then very much more America-First rank and file Republican Party.

As reported years later, Nixon told the businessman
“DON’T LISTEN TO WHAT WE SAY: WATCH WHAT WE DO!”</FONT COLOR=RED>

It is my strong memory of THAT event which prompts me to post this graphic!

AS YOU READ THIS, IT APPEARS THAT BUSH, DASCHLE AND OTHERS ARE WELL DOWN THE ROAD TO USING THIS PAGE FROM THE NIXON PLAYBOOK!

Look, America – the IDEA not the PLACE – can only continue to exist if we heed the advice of the founding fathers (paraphrased here in the current vernacular for residents of Rio Linda), to wit:
“The Founding Fathers have determined that failure to WATCH politicians – ALL POLITICIANS (even those you may worship!) – is dangerous to the security of this nation and to the freedoms we paid such a heavy price to TRY to leave you and your children.” “Government is not reason. Government is not eloquence. It is FORCE. And, like fire, it is a DANGEROUS SERVANT AND A FEARSOME MASTER.”

That from that notorious tinfoil hat wearing, radical wing-nut, George Washington.

"It also allows illegal aliens to avoid the State Department background checks" Very disturbing. Shouldn't this be some kind of national security issue? How many times have we been told to expect terrorism on American soil? What's to stop a foreign power bent on wreaking havoc in the US, from enlisting some of these immigrants to help.

Bush appears determined to cram Mexican amnesty down our throats.

I’ll be curious to see if the Hispanic votes he gains compensates for the conservative votes he looses in the next election.

Bush is well on his way to being a one-termer, just like dad.

Hey Pubbies ---Let's here it for your leader. What next "Conservative" move will he make. This man is a true globalist who cares about his allegience to the elites before his country, before his political party. Are ya able to see this yet???? Then just what will it take?

The Democrats are in on this too. In fact, it looks like Senator Kennedy is one of the co-sponsors of this bill. Here's an excerpt from the Congressional record:

This action allows Norma's family--and hundreds of thousands of other families--to stay together. S . 778 , introduced by Senators HAGEL and KENNEDY, extends the period of time for eligible people to file their petitions for relief with the Immigration and Naturalization Service and the Department of Labor for one year.

More text can be found at (i hope this works)Link

I'm a Bush supporter but I don't agree with him on this one either. But it's not all just Bush. The Demos are on this bandwagon and see millions of potential voters too!

Com'n RB, you're not being fair. President Bush is a Republican AND he wears a coat and tie in the oval office.

Why do you insist on placing substance over symbolism? We all know the 'pubbies need every vote they can get to defeat the evil Democrats. Who cares if they have to buy some of 'em with this regularization thing? Surely you agree it's more important to have a Republican in the White House, regardless of what he actually DOES?

What is different other than the attempt to register these illegals as republicans instead of democrats??

They are not being registered to vote. Most of these currently undoccumented workers will never become citizens. Many dont want to be. What the legislation does is give them the right to hold a green card, work in the United States and travel back and forth between the US and Mexico.

It eliminates the fear that someone will turn them in, forcing them to leave the country and give up all their possessions and possibly be separated from their kids who are US citizens by birth.

is changing the language, calling AMNESTY regularization!!

He also calls 'breaking and entering' into our country 'family values'.

But, oh well, he believes that Jesus Christ can be bundled together with a bunch of 'political philosphers and social thinkers'.

Conservatism is on its death bed.

No sir, it's not. Unfortunately you may be!

You've allowed your brain and spirit to become atrophied and rigid like some 95 year old in a rest home with no family or interests. You are guided by fear. Anything thats not exactly like you remember it to be when you were a child seems to cause overwhelming fear.

Dear all you monkeys on this thread:

1. Conservatism is not dead, nor is it even unhealthy.

2. The Republican party's weaknesses are in fact, modern Republicans, who have not elected people with spines.

3. Rather than foam at the mouth and become spastic at the notion that you actually think "Amnesty" will come to pass, remember that a recent gallup poll found roughly 70% of Americans are AGAINST this concept.

More likely than not, it is a bluff, similar to the one W used during the "Election Reform" hoopla. As conservatives, we need to continue to say NO, and refuse to cowtow to Vincente Fox. W could well be trying to keep the man in office a while longer...

Either way, you ladies need to stop getting your panties in a bunch every time something W does isn't perfectly textbook, and trust that you voted for the right man UNTIL he betrays that trust.

Of course, most of you griping and pissing and moaning on this thread are likely either libs or Libertarians anyway. You libs can kiss my a--, and you Libertarians, RELAX.

Vincente Fox, needs to get rid of some of his riff-raff.

Wrong! Havent you ever noticed that immmigrants are almost always more enterprising and hardworking than native born Americans who feel they have a God given right to a paycheck.

When you exclude the college educated in Mexico, those that can make the trek across the border, setup a new household in a strange land, find a job or several jobs and navigate in a world where their understanding of English is limited, tend to be more energetic, enterprising, and bright. They want to make something of themselves and its their responsibiilty to help support the family they left behind. They are motivated.

Ever wonder why it is that the Korean and Vietnamese immigrants own the shops that the blacks in LA tried to burn down while the inner city blacks are on the dole?

We export money and jobs out of the country by way of record trade deficits. We import illegals into the country, give them amnesty and in doing so encourage millions of future illegals to do the same.

Is it any wonder that our markets and our economy is coming crashing down?.

We are getting Mexico's trailer trash! Ever notice that extremely few doctors, lawyers, or engineers are illegal immigrants? We get lettuce pickers, fast food workers, and janitors!

Wrong. Why would Mexico's lawyers, doctors and engineers want to come to the US. They are already the elite in Mexico and they know that the US already has too many lawyers, too many doctors, and too many engineers.

These lettuce pickers, fast food workers, and janitors are willing to start at the bottom to make a better life for their families. Many in this country want the guarantee of a "good job" for life whether they work at it or not. Thats why they support Mr Pat B. He tells them its someone elses fault they cant find a job as good as the Auto mfring job they lost because they were vastly overpaid.

If this passes, I'm leaving the country. I'm not kidding this time. I really am. Really.

What makes you think any self respecting country would allow you to immigrate to their country?

Actually, Jacka$$, I know of quite a few Mexican immigrants that were professionals in their own country and just aren't "qualified" to practice here.

In fact, I know a factory work who was a dentist in his own country- but I guess he's trailer trash too, right?
