--thank you all so much for your generous thoughts and prayers regarding my 7 week old grandson, Camden. I asked for your prayers regarding his surgery this morning to repair the birth defect of no "soft spot" in his skull...the bones had fused together too early - not allowing for the brain to grow (very rare, 1 in 5000). The surgery consists of basically, in his case (which was the most common and easiest) two incisions, one behind each ear, cracking the skull, removing and reformating parts and replacing them. Can you imagine my sweet daughter-in-law handing over her newborn this morning to the nurse?

All went well, and he's in intensive care and hopes to be back home in a few days.

The miracle of your prayers perhaps became evident when the anesthesiologist remarked on "what a big baby" while reading his chart. Apparently the nurse had noted "20 lbs" instead of his "13 lbs".....and by the grace of God, Jennifer (mom) heard this, and was able to make the correction. You can imagine the outcome of a mistake like this....and it didn't happen.

Thank you one and all...but please keep my darling little grandson and his family in your thoughts and prayers...the next days/weeks/months will be very stressful - he will be fitted with a helmet to insure proper growth of the skull after the swelling goes away - hopefully by the time the AZ heat cranks up again, he will no longer need it.

Wow! Once again, our Almighty Father arranged people and circumstances to avert a crisis!!! Thank You Father!

May the Lord continue to hold each member of your family in the palm of His hand and provide generously for each need throughout the coming days and years! May the Lord's holy angels always walk with you, your children and grandchildren for safety, protection and guidance until He calls us all home!

Thank you billbears for the ping.

To all of my prayer friends...

There is a thread on FR discussing the use of phone trees for FReepers in the event of an attack or other emergency:

Instant Alert Network

I must admit I have been giving this some thought due to the serious nature of some events in our own lives lately, and would be very willing to share my phone number with you, my brothers and sisters, for a similar prayer alert chain. Our Lord has been very gracious in encouraging us to look for prayer requests online during times of crisis, but if FR or the entire web is down, we have no way of communicating with each other. Comments? Additional ideas?
