Vanity Post on Vanity Posts, Duplicate Posts, Trash Posts, Commie Propaganda, etc., Vol V, No. 1
Free Republic | Jan 25, 2002 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 01/25/2002 9:38:23 PM PST by Jim Robinson

Way too many vanity threads lately. And way too much trash being posted. Please try to stay on topic (politics). Also, please do a search on a significant word from the title of your article before posting. This will reduce the number of duplicates. And, along these same lines, please use the original titles on your article posts. Do NOT edit the titles. Do NOT use "My Title" titles. This will also help to reduce the number of duplicates.

And, whatever else you do, please DO NOT post from DEMOCRATS UNDERGROUND (or any other such trashy un-American socialist hangout). Free Republic was intended to be a socialist free zone. We've gone to a heck of a lot of trouble to make it that way. Why in the world would you think we would be interested in having their trash posted here?

And QUIT trashing each other. You know who you are. Knock it off! Way too many flamewars and feuds going on. And, while I'm thinking about it, QUIT trashing our conservative candidates. If you want to criticize someone's position on some policy, have at it. But do not trash or smear the man. That would include Browne, Buchanan, Bush, Keyes, et al, or whomever else may be your favorite trashee (examples listed in alphabetical sequence). The idea is to get more conservatives elected, not to trash the ones you don't like. If you want to trash someone, make it a Democrat. Thank you.

And QUIT dredging up old communist propaganda to smear our conservatives. Sheesh! Whatever else you may think about our guys, they did not hijack airliners full of people and crash them into buildings. No, my friends, not even the dreaded CIA. Anyone who would believe (or even suspect) that crap is no FReeper. I've been pulling this crap whenever I see it and several people have been banned for continuing to post it. I do not want it on Free Republic. Any current FR poster who believes this leftist propaganda, please logoff immediately, send me your resignation via email, and I will delete your account.

Thanks,

Jim

Imagine my surprise to find out that Somalia was all about oil too. That was on thread discussing a Somali boycott of "Blackhawk Down". I though I was safe there. ;-)

So calling Bush 'moderate' is now bashing? How sensitive can you get?

Let me clarify: I liked the style of the comment. I kinda chuckled at it when I saw it. In some ways, yes he is a moderate (Stem Cell research for one) in other ways, he is not. Methinks this should be an entirely different thread from this one, IMO.

Noticing that in many ways, he has not addressed any of the major issues that conservatives were anxiously hoping would be addressed (hence, 'establishment') is out-of-bounds? Demanding pure loyalty in all cases is a bit too subservient for Americans to stomach.

It's been a year. A tumultuous year at that. Good things were happening in the beginning (tax custs, education reform seemed to be moving forward, then not) then Sept. 11th happened.

So where would you like to see President Bush focused? On national security, securing our borders, ensuring that Sept. 11th never happens again, or the other major issues we Conservatives (and I proudly call myself a Conservative) have been fighting for for years? Personally, I want to make sure Sept. 11th never happens again. Secure our borders. Crack down on immigration & immigration scofflaws. Reform/disband/whatever the INS and turn immigration enforcement (deportation, etc..) over to the Military and ensure that only those who are supposed to be here, ARE here.

We have 58,000+ illegal Arabs in this country. I'm guessing they're not all good guys and a bunch of them are sitting and waiting to pull off another terrorist act in our country. I want our President and Administration focused on securing our country, and getting rid of these terrorists-in-waiting. I want to make sure Sept. 11th never happens again.

(Now I've got to go look up more of his past posts, and yours... be back in a few... Oh, and I know Bush has only been in office for a year, and has 3 to go. Still, he should have addressed tort-reform, election-fraud, Clinton's land-grabs for cash, term-limits, etc., by now. Or is that 'bashing', too?)

If Sept. 11th hadn't have happened, you and I would be in 100% agreement. There's also that little "power stealing" that happened in the U.S. Senate when Jeffords jumped ship, or had you forgotten about that?

One last thing: If you want to change the Republican Agenda in DC, change the Republican Leadership in the Senate. Trent Lott is the #1 reason some of your issues didn't come up. He blocked some of them, and cow-towed to DemocRATS on the rest. Look at the record. The President can (and should!) propose all these changes. If he doesn't have the cooperation of the House & Senate, nothing happens.

And since I'm on this little rant ... DUMP THAT PANTYWASTE TRENT LOTT ALREADY!!!!! Get a Senate Minority Leader with a damn' spine!!!

PS - if you learn how to use the search engine, can ya give me a few pointers? LOL! Look for the Stem Cell Research threads I initiated and responed on. You'll get a good feel for where I am on the political spectrum from those posts.

Buchanan is in fact a conservative. He's a populist conservative, but a conservative none the less. I believe what you said was that Buchanan was an anti-Semite. Do I recall correctly? I find it interesting that you would spit in the face of JR this way. He said to knock it off so why not knock it off?

"OK Jim, I'd like to run something by you. I have an idea for a vanity. It's called "What's your favorite vanity?"

No.. We don't need it. :) PULEEZE, we really do NOT need it.

That is exactly what the article at Frontpage did. Quite well in fact.

Nonsense. It's a smear, starting with the title. What is it about you witch-hunters that makes you feel obliged to destroy people? But I suppose that's what witch-hunting is all about, isn't it?

Pat Buchanan is not a Conservative. Conservatives do not team up with Marxists.

Politicians do though. Look at George Bush and Ted Kennedy over education. Or for that matter, your idol the big strong Zionist mass murderer with his unity government. Of course, his case is a little different. Is there even one one small-government party in Israel? Or are they all Marxists?

It is inappropriate to turn this thread into a flame war on any one subject. That is not the purpose of it IMHO.

See you in the trenches.

I'll bump to that!

I'm still stuck on why you would 'out' Boucheau, and say, "bye-bye" to him. Here are the main themes from his last 8 replies (which are all that pop up):

The other 3 were a bump of agreement, a typo correction, and his post on this thread. I just don't see where he has shown himself unworthy of FR posting priviledges. He seems pretty darn conservative to me. I don't want FR to only include those who want to earn the GOP version of Clintonian knee-pads. I'd rather have representatives who are willing, able, and happy to have their performance critiqued so that they can do their jobs as well (and as Constitutionally) as possible. Your point, that much has changed (and Bush has been just a bit distracted!) since 9-11 is well-taken... and the 2002 elections are going to be CRITICAL... but that still won't buy the GOP my loyalty. When the get a spine, when they reverse the progressive tax system, when they dump at least ONE of the unConstitutional roles of the Federal gov't (Dept of Education, please!!), etc, etc, etc, THEN they will have my undying support... and occasional questioning glare. ;^)

LOL. Now that you've been hoisted by your own petard for starting a flame war, it is "inappropriate." It is inappropriate to scream that Buchanan is an anti-Semite but that didn't stop you now did it?

The subject of this thread mentioned 'Commie Propaganda'. I noted a writer with Commie leanings whose swill gets posted here. I did not bring up Buchanan. As I said, not interested in continuing the debate here. Bye.

I wasn't implying YOU made the comment. I was "pinging" you to MY reply. It happens often on FR when someone replies to a post, an interested party is "pinged". I pinged you because I felt we agreed and wanted to to see my comment to the person who made the quoted (italicized) remarks.

I won't "ping" or reply to you anymore, thanks.

There are alot of writers who's "commie swill" gets posted here including Horrowitz. It's obviously not the "commie swill" that bothers you.

I don't think Jim was banning vanity posts, just asking us to check ourselves a little better. Some of the vanity posts are good, relevant and fun. Others are just plain silly. And there ARE too many of them.

I can understand that some things have gotten posted because so many relevant topics were being overposted and sometimes it's just a slow news day and I think some folks just want to liven things up a bit.

Personally, I have found some of the DU posts to be hilarious and they are generally posted under humor. I agreee that those people over there are a bunch of pathetic squealing RATS with nothing of substance to say, but they take themselves so seriously that they are entertaining. But, I understand the other side of it too.

I've brought quite a lot of FReepers onboard too because I think it is the best site going for conservatives. I don't know what I'd do without it. It is place where we can stay in touch with each other as Americans and I think that makes us stronger. We may not always agree with Jim, but we all owe him respect and a debt of gratitude.
