Vanity Post on Vanity Posts, Duplicate Posts, Trash Posts, Commie Propaganda, etc., Vol V, No. 1
Free Republic | Jan 25, 2002 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 01/25/2002 9:38:23 PM PST by Jim Robinson

Way too many vanity threads lately. And way too much trash being posted. Please try to stay on topic (politics). Also, please do a search on a significant word from the title of your article before posting. This will reduce the number of duplicates. And, along these same lines, please use the original titles on your article posts. Do NOT edit the titles. Do NOT use "My Title" titles. This will also help to reduce the number of duplicates.

And, whatever else you do, please DO NOT post from DEMOCRATS UNDERGROUND (or any other such trashy un-American socialist hangout). Free Republic was intended to be a socialist free zone. We've gone to a heck of a lot of trouble to make it that way. Why in the world would you think we would be interested in having their trash posted here?

And QUIT trashing each other. You know who you are. Knock it off! Way too many flamewars and feuds going on. And, while I'm thinking about it, QUIT trashing our conservative candidates. If you want to criticize someone's position on some policy, have at it. But do not trash or smear the man. That would include Browne, Buchanan, Bush, Keyes, et al, or whomever else may be your favorite trashee (examples listed in alphabetical sequence). The idea is to get more conservatives elected, not to trash the ones you don't like. If you want to trash someone, make it a Democrat. Thank you.

And QUIT dredging up old communist propaganda to smear our conservatives. Sheesh! Whatever else you may think about our guys, they did not hijack airliners full of people and crash them into buildings. No, my friends, not even the dreaded CIA. Anyone who would believe (or even suspect) that crap is no FReeper. I've been pulling this crap whenever I see it and several people have been banned for continuing to post it. I do not want it on Free Republic. Any current FR poster who believes this leftist propaganda, please logoff immediately, send me your resignation via email, and I will delete your account.

Thanks,

Jim

David Horowitz is an icon of the Conservative movement. Go back to school. Politics 101. There are some good threads here today. Check 'em out.

So we won't be seeing any football threads tomorrow (Sunday) or any tennis threads (today)? I'll believe it when I see it (or don't see it, LOL.)

Do you see the bottom of my post #221? Do you see where it says "To 187"?

THATS who my frikkin reply was to, numnutz.

I hope your comments in 229 was an attempt at humor, but I don't think it was because you flamed others on this thread for doing the same thing I did.

What I did and others who included your name in their reply was to draw your attention to the comments. It is *usually* a compliment (yes, I was complimenting you) when someone does that.

Now relax. And I will never reply or invite your comments, no matter how much I enjoy of agree with them, again.

Buchanan is no longer a Republican. He is irrelevant to the Conservative movement now. He tried to tank President Bush's chances of election, btw. I suggest we continue that debate Here and leave this thread in peace.

Good advice! I'd like to cross-stitch that sentence on a pillow, have a bumper sticker made of it, and have it placed on a T-shirt! :-)

Exactly. Sometimes we conservatives can be our own worst enemies.

We've all noticed how Democrats stick together about the same way that Arabs/Muslims do. You never hear any of them trashing their own. Why can't we do the same?

Buchanan is no longer a Republican.

One doesn't have to be a republican to be a conservative icon.

Politicians do though. Look at George Bush and Ted Kennedy over education.

I don't think Ted Kennedy will be joining Bush's reelection campaign anytime soon, as Fulani did with Buchanan's bid.

and the 2002 elections are going to be CRITICAL... but that still won't buy the GOP my loyalty. When the get a spine, when they reverse the progressive tax system, when they dump at least ONE of the unConstitutional roles of the Federal gov't (Dept of Education, please!!), etc, etc, etc, THEN they will have my undying support... and occasional questioning glare. ;^)

Three cheers and a BUMP! I'm not a Republican Party Loyalist, and I don't "blindly" follow anyone like some do. I'll criticize when and where necessary, but I insist on keeping the debate intellectually honest. Frankly, I've found myself on the opposite side of people here whom I've known and respected for several years, more often than I'd like. Still, I won't bend or alter my position for political expedience, as some here would have me/us do. In my sometimes not-so-humble opinion, it's all the things that have been done in the name of "political expedience" that have gotten us to where we're at today.

Speaking for myself only, my priorities for the next year would have to include continuing to root out terrorists and "eliminate" them when found; protect the tax cuts that got passed last year and not let the Democrats "freeze" or alter them in any way; Immigration Reform & Securing our borders (which does NOT include amnesty for anyone!); Education Reform that INCLUDES vouchers to families to give them their tax dollars back to send their children to a school of THEIR choice - not the Governments; A commitment to providing for the national defense and increasing funds to the Military to ensure our borders are protected; A re-vamp/re-visit of our CIA & FBI policies regarding information gathering on foreign terrorist groups (get rid of the Toricelli Policy!) and; Legislation that protects the unborn, welcomes them into life, and severely restricts abortion and eliminates ALL federal funding for abortion not only here in the U.S. but in foreign aid to other countries as well.

And that's just for starters. :)

" But about the President, does that include his domestic agenda (Ted Kennedy education bill, proposal to restore food stamps to immigrants, proposal for new programs inside the EPA)? Those aren't war-related. I hope those topics are fair game."

I think it is a good thing to discuss these issues. This is a fairly high profile forum and is doubtless viewed by people in positions of influence who use it and others to get a feel for how the people really think and in that regard I think we should be able to discuss these issues freely. I support President Bush and our armed forces 100% in the war effort, but I am less in agreement with some of his other policies as well. That is normal. We are not always going to agree with any president.

I wasn't implying YOU made the comment. I was "pinging" you to MY reply. It happens often on FR when someone replies to a post, an interested party is "pinged". I pinged you because I felt we agreed and wanted to to see my comment to the person who made the quoted (italicized) remarks.

Oh geez!!! I'm terribly sorry! Forgive me, I didn't have my morning coffee yet, looking back I was a bit grumpy. Please accept my apology.

More like an IV Drip. Boucheau, apologies to you as well. Gee, I was very abrasive this morning.

That settles it, no more FR until after cup o' java #4 in the morning.

President Bush will submit his next budget soon that will grow the government faster than the rate of inflation. His first budget tripled the rate of inflation

Your statement and your quoted article offer no documented proof. Protubering government budgets are a serious matter. Your statement here and your referenced post accomplish no constructive criticism on the growth of government.
