Bennett Raley, assistant secretary of water and science at the Department of Interior, is talking at the Public Interest and Environmental Law Conference (PIELC) at 1 pm Friday, March 8 at the UO School of Law. Raley, a Bush appointee who oversees the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, shares the lunchtime keynote spot with Ralph Nader, the Green Party's 2000 presidential candidate.

"The Conference has always been a source of controversy and this year will be no different," says Jeff Kuyper, PIELC co-director. "Both Nader and Raley continue to have an impact on our nation's environmental policy, yet their perspectives could not be more opposite. This year's conference attendees will be treated to quite a show."

Thanks for the link (someday I'm going to learn how to do a link if my ancient computer can handle it), but it still doesn't answer my question as to why these extremists aren't sent a bill for the results of their actions, especially to crimes they publicized as having committed.

You can only bill those you know the name of. ELF and ALF are movements who's players are hiding in the shadows. They organize in cells, and only those who have been caught and incarcerated are vulnerable.

Even if these folks were easy to find, they are rootless, moneyless for the most part, and would do anything to sabotage those winning any judgement from getting any moneies paid them.

They have declared war on the system. Good luck getting blood from that turnip. I am betting no money is paid to Romania if they win the suit in that link.

As to your conclusion that people have been killed by environmentalist is true. Loggers in the past years have been maimed and have died from tree spiking. I do not remember all the specifics but there were a rash of deaths during the Eighties and early Ninties. There were some environmental activists that spiked the trees saying that it was to protect the trees by scaring the Loggers into not knowing which tree in a section was spiked. The goal was to have the chain on the saw dull the teeth or break the chain completely there by stopping the logger from cutting the tree. However, these near sighted individuals did not realize that once the tree was cut the tree has no defenses to protect it self and will eventually die beacuse the bark has lost to much integreity. Even worse, the consequences for the operator of the saw could be more drastic. the minimum was that the chain would dull and not work to the chain on a 5ft+ bar would break, and whip around and slice the operator open, somtimes killing them on the spot. Some who did it bragged that the death was caused not by thier actions of spiking but of the loogers action of cutting the trees (i.e. in the vain of paying for thier crimes to nature.) I have not heard recently of these actions by the environmentalist but I hope not to hear about future spikings.

I have a more pre-Empire idea. Let's defund and then dismantal the EPA, abolish its functions, not outsource them. After that is complete, and I'm talking a year's time tops, we repeal all "Federal Land" EO's, which should be less than a week's work. Restart the Homesteading Act and then get the government the hell out of the way while we make productive use of the land, as is our right. In the meantime, we simply arrest any and all of these arsonists and vandals and put them in jail for long periods of time.

I know, pre-Empire ideas have little room in this the "Modern America", but call me a sentimentalist.

Consider the fact that these so called "scientists" will not be facing charges for these heinous acts. Now tell me, in light of this, can you tell who is really in charge here? Its not you or I, I'll tell you that much for free.

These screeching chimps will continue with their agenda unabated, since it serves the interests of the State so well. At such a time as they become irrelevent, and that's a long way in the future, they will be silenced. Until then, expect to hear their hoops and hollerin in the jungle for a long, long time.

There are more than enough laws to take care of any terrorists in our country and abroad.

The real terrorists in America operate openly in Washington DC.

They spread terror around the world, aiding the internationalists in creating world rule. Beware of any group who appears to operate above the law and which are used as an excuse to create more laws that take your Freedom and threaten your Constitution.

God gave us a simple set of rules to live by.

1. You shall have no other gods.

2.You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God.

3. Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy.

4. Honor your father and your mother.

5. You shall not murder.

6. You shall not commit adultry.

7. You shall not steal.

8. You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor.

9. You shall not covet your neighbors house.

10. You shall not covet your neighbors wife, or his manservant or maidservant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.

If we held our politicians to these laws, many of America's problems would disappear. Freedom and representitive governments would begin to grow around the world, instead of tyranny which our government is forcing on innocent peoples.

Why are we afraid to do the Right thing?

We have the power to change things for the better, and a God who would Love to help us. But we have to let Him into our lives.

It's past time to stand up with Jesus. After what He did for us we should bow our heads in shame and wait for condemnation. But His Love is eternal, so it's not too late to turn this around, yet.......
