Line item did not unite the Democrats and the press. CFR does. Different equation entirely, and if Bush signs it, it picks up steam.

You must also naively believe the media won't be pushing for the Dems equally as ferociously in October regardless of CFR. I keep hearing how Bush needs to silence McCain - why? He beat the crap out of him in the primaries. He needs to silence the Dems? My God, he has 80 percent approval ratings, they're flailing away, let them whine.
