Mitt Romney in 2012? (Blech!)
New England Cable News ^ | December 2, 2010 | Alison King

Will Mitt Romney make a Presidential run in 2012? Speculation is growing after Romney made an appearance on the Tonight Show. But if the former Massachusetts Governor has Presidential dreams, he may have a hard time breaking into the public spotlight thanks to Sarah Palin who seems to be everywhere these days.

Mitt Romney: If you see me sign up for a gig on Fox News it's a sure sign I'm running for President.

Mitt Romney, on Jay Leno Wednesday, continued his coy routine on his plans for 2012, but he did get in that not so subtle jab at Sarah Palin, an official Fox contributor, who is also playing coy about her plans.

The comparisons between the two Republican frontrunners are made daily among political observers and in the battle for high profile media coverage. Palin wins hands down.

There is her book tour, her prime time interview with Barbara Walters, and who could forget the proud mom cutaways during "Dancing With the Stars." Daughter Bristol came in third.

Still, Romney, a former governor, businessman and turnaround king has intellectual heft on his side -- a widely regarded expert on the economy.

So who's a Republican to choose?

The latest poll shows Mitt Romney on top of the list of possible Presidential candidates in 2012 - squeaking by President Obama by one point. But Palin has a one-point edge over Romney in the primary, which makes many mainstream republicans crazy -- though they're often reluctant to admit it.

Mitt Romney: If someone's looking for someone to say something negative about Sarah Plain - why, that's not going to be me. I mean, did you see what she did to the Halibut the other night on her show? I'm not in for that.

The fact that hundreds of thousands of Americans did see what Palin did to the halibut on her reality show: Palin's Alaska highlights the challenge facing Romney -- though many feel his carefully crafted, deep grassroots organization will likely put him on top in the end.

Not if I have anything to do with it! Governor Palin has a deep grassroots organization, too, and I'm glad the jourbalists don't realize that or write it off.

Romney will only run if it will enhance his resume for Barnum Bailey’s Circus, so he can pursue his life long dream of getting out of a tiny little car and entertain the audience with his Homey the Clown routine.

with Mike Pence seriously thinking of running, we wont have to worry about Romney. If Pence runs, he will likely take it.Actually a Pence/Gingrich ticket would be one of Obama’s worst nightmares!

Mitt Romney is for RomneyCare, which led to ObamaCare! This fact alone will end any serious opportunities for a Romney victory. Mitt Romney being a RINO doesn’t help him, either.

Repealing Obamacare has to be the top priority for 2012. Given that, the guy who gave us Romneycare has no business running for the presidency.

Palin have one point edge of Romney, but somehow Romney is the mainstream and Palin is the extreme?

If Romney is the 2012 choice of the GOP, it’s a shoe in for democrats to continue destroying America and the efforts of the tea party will be wasted. Ditto Gingrich, Huckabee, et al no matter what their RINO polls tell them.

Newt has way too much negative personal baggage for him to have any serious chances of being anywhere on any Presidential ticket. Newt, also, sided with Hillary on her health care plan, and Newt sided with Nancy on man made global warming. Newt, also, sided with Bill Clinton on campaign finance reform. Newt has a lot of explaining to do.

I've said it before. The MSM is going to try and project a narrative of "inevitability" about Mitt, the same way they did with McCain, because they know that he has very few passionate supporters and would at best garner reluctant support from the Conservatives.

That means there will be a LOT of puff pieces on Mitt in the coming months. The MSM will work actively to magnify his positives while doing everything they can to hide his negatives, right up to the moment (God forbid) he takes the nomination -- after which they will gleefully do everything they can to destroy him.

We let this happen with McCain. We better not let it happen again.

Get active with the Tea Party and we’ll believe you’re for real, Mitt. Until then, you’ll be lumped in along with McCain, Giuliani, Gingrich, Armey, and the other RINOs.

Not likely.

Pence is a nice guy and is a good candidate but pales in comparison to Sarah.

Sarah will win, Pence will not.

well “Pence/Palin” and “Palin/Pence” both sound much better than “Obama/Bin Biden”.
