A new poll by a Catholic advocacy group shows President Barack Obama has a slight lead over Gov. Mitt Romney among non-Hispanic Catholics, despite the stalled economy and his 2012 establishment of church regulations requiring them to fund contraception and abortion-related services that they abhor.

The poll of 2,629 likely Catholic voters, an unusually large sample, showed that 46.5 percent of non-Hispanic Catholics support Obama, while 45.6 percent support Romney.

Sad....if it's true.

Seriously, if this is true, there are some voters that you could literally call for a genocide and they’d still vote for you.

white “Catholics” who attend church two or three times a year: hostile toward religion and hostile toward anything that looks like the religious right, including the GOP.

LIBERALS.

Forty-eight percent of the poll respondents were Democrats; 33 percent were Republicans.

Here we go again. D+15, what a joke.

I believe 0bama won the Catholic vote by like 25% four years ago.....8% lead now is quite a come down.

I’m not Catholic (I am a Lutheran) but I don’t know how anyone who is Catholic can vote for the pro homo marriage, pro baby killing 0bama.

As a Catholic, I agree with you 100% it sickens me that anyone would vote for this turd, much less a self identified Catholic.

Any professing Catholic who votes for this piece of dung this time automatically self-excommunicates themselves and earns a one-way ticket to hell.

These results are rather interesting. It appears that most Catholics, if they connected their beliefs to politics, would have to vote the conservative ticket:

Key TCA survey findings:

Catholics who do not attend Mass regularly:

78% say: “Our rights come from nature and God, not government.”

72% say: “America’s exploding federal debt hurts the poor the most.”

66% say: “Religious charitable institutions should not be forced by the government to provide or pay for goods and services they morally object to.”

66% say: “Catholics can disagree about the best way to serve the poor-for example, favoring private charity over government programs – without being 'bad' Catholics.”

57% say: “The Obama Administration has gone too far in placing restrictions on religious freedom when implementing their programs and policies.”

Among regular Mass-attending Catholics:

86% say: “Our rights come from nature and God, not government.”

71% say: “America’s exploding federal debt hurts the poor the most.”

72% say: “Religious charitable institutions should not be forced by the government to provide or pay for goods and services they morally object to.”

71% say: “Catholics can disagree about the best way to serve the poor-for example, favoring private charity over government programs – without being 'bad' Catholics.”

Hi newbie! This was posted already and what’s your point? obumbum will still be kicked out into the vermin infested sidewalk where he belongs come November. Bank on it.

And as for this poll, it’s all bogus anyway. so don’t get too hyper, one way or another, over it.

This is not an inappropriate sample since Catholics are heavily democrat.

Such a sample is only inappropriate when trying to draw conclusions about the general population of voters not subgroups.
