Poll: Romney the frontrunner in 2016?
CNN's Political Ticker ^ | June 19, 2014 | Paul Steinhauser, political editor

He's said over and over that he won't run for the White House a third time, but a new poll indicates that if Mitt Romney changed his mind and made another bid for president, he'd be the frontrunner among Republicans in the first-in-the-nation primary state of New Hampshire.

According to the Suffolk University/Boston Herald survey, which was released Thursday, 24% of Granite State Republicans and independents who lean towards the GOP say that Romney would be their first choice for their party's presidential nomination.

Among the potential 2016 GOP contenders, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie was a distant second, at 9%, with Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky at 8%, and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush at 7%.

While the survey may make headlines, it's important to remember that Romney's very well known in New Hampshire. He owns a vacation home in the state, has often appeared at GOP events in New Hampshire, and was governor of neighboring Massachusetts. Romney easily won the 2012 Republican primary, but lost the state by six percentage points to President Barack Obama in the general election....

He just doesn’t run a campaign against dems well, nor is he a conservative. He does socialist liberal real well. He’s for tax cuts unless it’s for Romneycare and less spending unless it’s for paying car insurance for welfare recipients. He’s for less regulation unless its for gun control.

And last but not least, either of those people — Santorum or Gingrich would have done a better job running than Mitt because Mitt didn’t even try. Obama was safe with Mitt because Mitt doesn’t run against anyone but conservatives.

Depends on what your talking about: People somehow trying to sabotage a political campaign or people afterwards talking up their own candidate at the expense of another.

Is that something you never did? Didn't you ever put down a candidate like Romney to promote your own?

And how does any of this add up to "Romney did it, they admitted it and he deserves the blame"?

Who are "they"? What did they admit? And how is Romney to blame for what other people did?

And how in heavens name does any of this support the charge that Romney or his people attacked Palin's children?

Not at all. Just aspiring to just be Vice President is a little milktoast, IMHO. I would reverse it. Palin-Cruz.

Because when the same people in the group that attacked Palin decide they arent done, it is most unlikely that an all new group of PDSers comes out of nowhere to go after her kids with a fresh start. Back in a saner time we used to put blame where it was due, not search vainly for excuses and invent others when none could be found.

I never said McCain or his people didn’t have a hand in the sabotage, either. McCain’s similar purpose was to serve as ringer to ease Zero into the White House. That either he or Willard, two closeted Democrats (and let us not forget that McCain was very close to bolting in 2004 to be Kerry’s running mate) were ever allowed near the Republican nomination for President shows the overwhelming corruption and dysfunction of the party apparatus. One thing is crystal clear, the system is profoundly broken, and it serves the bipartisan big government cabal/regime well.

This will be the 3rd go-around. I’ve been fighting these cretins on FR since they started pimping for him at the close of his failed Gubernatorial term in 2006. If you would have told me 8 years ago I’d still be having to play whack-a-mole with this Socialist cancer Willard, I’d have just shook my head.

So everybody loved Palin except the Romneyites?

Those Palin family rumors were circulated by people who hated Romney just as they hated Palin: Andrew Sullivan, left-wing bloggers, etc.

There is a whole political world outside of the Republican party.

You just believe that the people that targeted her the hardest just stopped one day and an all new group began from the ether as if by magic. Thats your call.

Romney has a history of running business well...

Yeah, like when he profited to the tune of at least $75 million from his controlling interest in Stericycle, which collects and burns the bodies of aborted babies.

I appreciate your humor.

But, of course, as bad as Obama is, I’ve never seen evidence that he made $75 million from helping destroy the evidence of mass murder like the 2012 GOP nominee.

How could we have a worse president than the one we have now? Please tell me how Obama in office is better than Romney.

Both of them have their own brand of evil. One profits from dead children in cash, one in political power.

Both evil since God never installed a return desk at the Pearly Gates. Neither is remotely worth putting in authority because of it. One may as well nominate Anton LeVey or one of his priests. End result is the same.
