New Poll Shows McConnell Up by 3 in Kentucky With Overwhelming Tea Party Support
Breitbart's Big Government ^ | October 21, 2014 | Michael Patrick Leahy

Posted on 10/21/2014 10:20:47 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

Western Kentucky University's 2014 Big Red Poll released on Monday shows that incumbent Senator Mitch McConnell (R-KY) leads Democratic challenger Alison Lundergan Grimes by 3 points, 45% to 42%, among likely voters in the Kentucky U.S. Senate race. The poll, coming two weeks before election day, indicates the race is still close, despite numerous recent gaffes by Grimes and news that the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee has stopped funding television advertising in support of her candidacy.

5% of likely voters supported Libertarian David Patterson, and 8% were undecided.

The most surprising result of the poll is that, despite a bitter primary battle between Tea Party-endorsed Matt Bevin and McConnell, the Tea Party overwhelmingly supports McConnell over Grimes. "13% of those surveyed self-identified as members of the TEA Party." Among that group, McConnell "leads Grimes 87%-5%."

In addition "nearly a third (32%) of those who did not self-identify [as Tea Party members] indicated that they were sympathetic to the views expressed by the TEA Party." Among these Tea Party sympathizers, McConnell leads Grimes 70% to 21%....

Yes, I dropped off my ballot last week.

In CO we have mail in/drop off only. Unfortunately.

So conservatives are pulling McConnell’s sorry behind over the finish line? Will he now govern in a conservative manner? Not a chance. I see as thank you he is plotting to back stab us with a lame duck omnibus spending bill. Priority #1 for a majority GOP Senate: fully funding the obama agenda.

No kidding. I’m pretty sure a lot of people here can be thanked for not showing up in 2012. How did that work out for everyone? People need to learn. First you get it GOP. Then you weed out the RiNOs. In that effing order.

Exactly.

Which means GOP needs 52 or 53 in senate! McCain is the worst in every aspect, no doubt.

He deserves NO Tea Party Support....

Amen. The TP is only hurting themselves in the long run for backing this major RINO.

Only 3%? McConnell is weak and the KY voters know it.

Time to get out and vote in as many Republicans as possible.

Hold your nose and vote Republican.

THEN, it's all Cruz all the time.

We have to rally behind a SINGLE conservative in the Republican primary NOW.

The Fabian socialists in the Republican party are beginning to align behind their candidate.

CO and WA have some nasty similarities: too many Progressive totalitarians.

What we CARE about is that he issued a fatwa against conservatives. THEN he supported and enabled the vote fraud stealing of an election for Thad!

UNFORGIVABLE!

I’m with you myself6. May Thad Cochran, Haley Barbour and Mitch McConnell rot in hell.

Mitch is in trouble... As he SHOULD be..

One FReeper told me that he voted today in Louisville and it was PACKED! It looked like a Presidential Election. He said the overwhelming majority of the voters were Democrats. Their Ground Game and their GOTV Machine is well oiled. Remember the 3 hour-long lines in FL in 2012 when the polls showed it “close”? If that doesn’t have Mitch worried, the huge number of Conservatives who will stay home or skip the Senate Race on the ballot, because they have a red-hot hatred for him, should cause him concern. I predict his vote total will be 3% less than the polls show because of angry Conservatives who are “flying under the radar”.

After seeing James O’Keefe’s video and how easy it is to commit vote fraud in CO with the “All Mail” ballots, I’m not going to breathe easily until I hear Brett Baier say: “FOX News is calling Colorado for Cory Gardner.”

I’m concerned that the ballots sent to non-interested people or ballots at addresses where people have moved, or ballots in dumpsters, will fall into someone’s hands. All they have to do is mark the ballot(s) for a straight DemocRAT Ticket and mail it in. I’m really concerned about CO.

I agree. We can put absolutely nothing past the rotten RATS.

“Progressives” are truly totalitarian commies. they are ruthless and very vile.

I’m with you about hearing Brett Baier; that will be a relief.
