Here are the politicians Donald Trump has 'bought'

Trump’s donations reveal a typical businessman looking out for his interests -- and what politicians can do to help him -- more than an ideologue backing like-minded candidates. He’s given money to New York-area politicians of both parties, for instance, including both of New York’s Democratic senators, Chuck Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand, as well as local Republicans such as New York Congressman Peter King. Trump gave a token $2,500 to the Romney presidential campaign during the 2012 election.

Scott Walker. Trump gave the Wisconsin governor $10,000 last year, when Walker was running for a second term. It seems to have helped, since Walker won. Still, it’s a tiny fraction of the $70 million or so Walker has raised during his five years as governor.

Mike Huckabee. In 2012, Trump gave $2,500 to the former Arkansas governor’s political-action committee, known as Huck PAC. As donations go, that’s a fairly small one.

Jeb Bush. Trump gave a mere $500 to Bush’s campaign in 2002, when Bush was governor of Florida. That’s not the kind of sum that gets you invited to the governor’s mansion.

Hillary Clinton. It’s certainly unusual that a presidential candidate of one party has donated money to a leading candidate of the other party. But Trump’s contributions to Clinton only total a modest $8,500. All of those donations came during Clinton’s tenure as senator from Trump’s home state of New York, from 2000 to 2009.

I have zero problem with Trump donating to any politician who could get Trump in their cross hairs.

Day after the debate. They don’t wait long to start the trashing.

Ted Cruz is not on that list, which is good for Ted Cruz.

I want a President that would invite the Clintons to their sentancing and parole hearings only

This article, if you read all of it is not trashing Trump. Actually it explains why Trump donations are a normal pattern for all large businesses.

I see nothing underhanded if Cruz has received or will receive political donation from a businessman.

When Hillary and Obama were battling for the nomination, lots of people gave her money and support who wouldn’t have otherwise. Rush even suggested “crossing over” to provide this false support to Hillary at that time and he called it “Operation Chaos”.

“Trump sort of did that in the debate by saying, he donates so that if he needs them in the future, they will return his calls.”

Donating money is perfectly legal, a form of free speech. And those politicians that return the calls from their donor are just doing to ensure that they get proper funding. All this talk about money and politics is just typical class warfare.

You don’t have homeless parasites having the clout. That is not “fair”, but they don’t contribute to society either. The billionaires and the millionaires employ the majority of the people. They are just utilizing/investing their wealth properly.

"Trump’s donations reveal a typical businessman" serving socialist interests to prevent business competition, and that's much of what's wrong with the economy now.

Yap, our system has built in trap doors for corruption. A successful businessman plays the game that is handed to him. Trump did not design the system. He adapts to whatever the system is.

Correct me if I’m wrong. The more a person prosper the more enemies you make. Also the more your business prosper the more you will be forced to donate to politicians (of any party) in order to keep any regulations at bay against one’s business.

Didn’t this happen with Bill Gates in the beginning? He prospered but didn’t donate in the beginning. That is when under the Clinton Administration they started to hound him with Anti-Trust laws against Microsoft. Once he started his donations and lobbyists. The government then gradually began to lay off.

You got that right! Trump is not necessarily most conservative on social issues. However he knows more about how to run a business better than other 16 candidates COMBINED, including Fiorina.

Trump knows more about how business is done in foreign countries than all other candidates combined. He has actually done it first hand.

Last night, he said he donated to anyone who asked...and now he expects them to help him as he has helped them...

He’s a businessman, a billions of dollars businessman, what do you expect? That’s how a businessman works, they play close to the vest, they know who will do what and when...

This is all new to ‘politicians’ because they ‘hide’ their money and let us pay for it...
