Free Republic Straw Poll (December edition)
December 6, 2015 | 2ndDivisionVet

Posted on 12/06/2015 2:40:23 PM PST by 2ndDivisionVet

If you had to vote in your state primary/caucus today, knowing what you know now about the various declared and probable candidates, who would you vote for? Why? Who would you like to see as the running mate for your preferred candidate? If you could help staff your candidates cabinet and other top appointments, who would you choose? If you could recommend different congressional leaders than we have now, who would they be? And who would you like to see on the Supreme Court and why? And finally, feel free to donate to Free Republic.

I would like to ask all of you Trump supporters.....why?

I concede that he has vocalized issues that needed it. But what has the man ever DONE that shows he has ANY sincerely held conservative ideals? I’ve been told by others that he has run successful multi billion dollar businesses....well so has Bill Gates and Steve Jobs. I’ve even been told that I should watch The Apprentice. Really?!? If that’s all it takes to SHOW conservatism, we are indeed a sorry lot.

I get that he has said he’ll deport all the illegals, (something that would be glorious, but has zero chance of ever happening)....but how many conservative principles must be voided just because we agree with one issue? Six months ago, most of you would have laughed out loud at the notion of his even running as a Republican!

Ted Cruz. Hasn’t changed in months...everything I read and hear about him reaffirms he is absolutely the right choice.

Running mate? Who knows? I have no idea what will drive that choice. I do know he’d pick somebody with the experience, seriousness-of-purpose, and gravitas of a Dick Cheney, not some lightweight like Biden.

RE: “Delusional”

What unbiased fact-based critical examination have you made concerning Trump vs Cruz’s political record history, behavior, disposition, tendencies, style, political affiliations, conflicts of interest, and related experience that best fulfills demands of POTUS?

Provide your analytical assessment, point by point.

Does Trump appeal to constitutional conservatoves who rely on fact, history & logic, or those who are led by swept up by the bandwagon because of their “feelings”?

BTW: Trump picked up and sponsored Perot’s Reform Party mantle back in 1998.
Look it up.
Trump is clearly a distraction SPOILER guaranteeing democrat victory.

I’ve never wavered from 8 years of Trump followed by 8 years of his VP Ted Cruz. Either one would be great.

Yet ANOTHER Trump supporter that can provide no evidence of anything the man has DONE that shows he’s a conservative.

Top choice: Cruz/Trump

Second choice: Trump/Cruz

Third choice: I’d have to look long and hard if one of those two was not at the top of the ticket.

"Ted Cruz. Hasn’t changed in months...everything I read and hear about him reaffirms he is absolutely the right choice."

That's what my mother-in-law told me. They had been leaning somewhat toward Trump, but they saw Ted speak in SC, and they're 100% on board for him now.

Being from New Hampshire I will be voting for Cruz.

Only two more months to go for me.

Its always interesting to see the primary ballots up here in NH. The Repub one will probably have over 40 names on it.

Most of is have given our reasons.

Please stop asking us to justify our choice.

You want everybody to vote for a first term senator with no legislative record of sucess. Whats the difference other than you just assume he will do everything he says while you assume Trump is only one issue and wont follow through?
