If you listen to Donald Trump, you would believe that Ted Cruz's huge victories in Kansas and Maine in Super Saturday were a fluke.
While Trump is still leading in delegates, he should be a little more worried about the Cruz surge.
While Kansas was always going to be a toss-up between the two, Cruz's surprising victory in Maine should not be overlooked. While Trump was spinning Mar. 5 as another resounding victory, in reality, it was a not such a good day.
Not only did Cruz obtain most of the 155 delegates that were up for grabs on Saturday, he also kept Trump from maxing out his delegates in his two primary wins in Louisiana and Kentucky. Cruz's strategy, to steal closed Republican primary states away from the New York real estate mogul, worked like a charm, and now, Cruz heads into the Mar. 8 primaries in Hawaii, Idaho, Michigan, and Mississippi with a wave that could keep The Donald from reaching the 1237 delegates necessary to win the GOP's nomination ahead of their convention in Cleveland....

I see people posting from motherjones slate and huffpost so what’s the problem?? Don’t like the content?
“Not only did Cruz obtain most of the 155 delegates that were up for grabs on Saturday”
See, this is what pisses us off. He did not win “most”. He did win “the most” or “a majority” or “the largest number”. So why lie about it?
“If you listen to Donald Trump, you would believe that Ted Cruz’s huge victories in Kansas and Maine in Super Saturday were a fluke.”
BTW did you find a quote of Trump saying this??
Lol. You need it.
“Cruz is a Democrats dream opponent.”
BWAAAAAHAHAHA, that’s why Trump’s negatives are higher than anyones (including Hillary) AND why just about every poll out there shows her beating Trump in a head to head.
But don’t let the facts get in the way of a good false narrative.
Maybe Lame Cherry has one?
Why don't you post it?
“You do realize that the Democrats voting for Trump now will be voting for Hillary in Novenber.”
Fallacy of too few alternatives.
I know democrats who will vote for Trump this fall, they WILL NOT vote for Hillary and WILL NOT vote for Cruz.
One is really angry, he said “I’ve finally become a full blown republican and now the GOP is trying to tear down their own front runner. How stupid can they be.”
It’s not really much of a surge. Cruz does well where there are caucuses. Caucuses limit the freedom to engage in the process, in my opinion. They’re open to heavy influence/peer pressure, they last much longer than a simple ballot primary, so only certain people who have the time to participate can go, etc... The economically diminished blue collar whites that are a big part of Trump’s base are exactly the type of people who don’t have the time to go participate in a caucus.
I think his “surge” is very limited in scope and won’t turn into much more than it already has.
I didn’t assert it, and I don’t believe he said it. I watched what he said after Ted’s wins last night.
Those who assert he said it or believe he said it need to post a quote.
Not rocket science.
The Republican party does not need more Republicans. The Republican party needs conservatives.
They didn’t make the assertion. The source you quoted did. If you believe Trump actually said that then post a quote.
If GOD be for me, who can be against me? GOD BLESSED TED CURZ and GOD bless his supporters.
“Ted Cruz surge is not a staged joke”
Yet I can’t can’t help but laugh.
“Say hello to 4+ years of Hillary.”
Bet the rent on it.
Agreed
You do realize this is Free Republic, right ?
Then the republican party will continue to lose. Why? Because the number of people who recieve government money one way or another is a majority. The only person who stands a chance at rallying enough troops to overcome that majority is Trump. Cruz won’t do it, mark my words. When the parasite majority gets whittled down THEN we can worry about conservative values.
Sometimes it’s a bit hard to tell.
We’ll see. There aren’t many caucus states left.
