What Nancy Pelosi said isn't necessarily a new idea: the theory that white, working class men vote Republican because of social issues and -- from Democrats' perspective -- to the detriment of their economic interests.
But it is worth taking a closer look this year. Hillary Clinton is struggling mightily this campaign with white men, who, according to Washington Post-ABC News polling, are supporting Trump by higher margins than they did for Mitt Romney in 2012; 77 percent of them hold an unfavorable view of the Democratic nominee. And there's a possibility the presidential race will be played out in the Rust Belt and Midwest, where there is a higher concentration of white, working class men.
While we can't ask every white, non-college-educated man who they're voting for and why, we can get an idea of how strongly they feel about the three issues Pelosi pointed out. So let's do that.

She has the same level of education as Trump. I would argue Trump’s is higher because he went to a much more competitive school.
Trump has seemed relatively areligious and pro gay rights compared to the average GOP voter, so I don’t think that’s it. Limiting immigration and fiscal responsibility seem like more likely causes, but that might tempt the Dem base to his side rather than scare them.

I can make it much simpler for the Deep Thinkers at the Post: white working-class and middle-class men dislike Hillary because she openly and publicly hates us, holds us in virulent contempt, and blames every wrong done to every one of her target constituencies on us, and has done all of this her entire political career. At some point the whipping boy gets a little tired of the game.

Naturally, all the white guys who have voted democrat all these years have prospered, made out like bandits and have been rewarded by the democrats with high positions in the party.
