Thanks for the ping, EV. There's an army of allies joining the fight for Terri today. It's awesome. I think every question we've had will be examined by others in the coming years. Felos, Greer and MS will not be able to hide behind the hospice and the press any more.
Larry King will give equal time to Terri's side next week - no doubt due to all your emails! Bob and Mary will be on Thur. after next.
Thanks for the heads up, Republic.

You know another thing that's really creepy about Michael Schiavo and his mini-me lawyer? A long time ago, Terri used to have make-up applied and she is so pretty, you know. But for years and years MS has deprived her of make-up and stuff like that. When those videos were made (by MS's goons), Terri looks grotesque and the TV angle was shot in the most unflattering way imaginable like she's a buck-toothed fool. All part of the plan to destroy her humanity and kill her off.
In the Schindler video (which was filmed illegally - without MS's permission) Terri is smiling and looks pretty, I think, even though she doesn't have make-up on. I don't care how mentally challenged I may become in this life, PLEASE DON'T LET ME GO WITHOUT MAKE-UP. When my Mom was dying, we put lipstick on her and combed her hair. Two weeks before she died, I have a picture of her looking very pretty. I think I'll go and have a good cry now.

Because the Florida legislator has a majority of Republicans, I think liberals at first blush take Michael's side, but anyone that looks at the facts comes over to the other side. We can't allow this one judge to allow a state sanctioned death on such flimsy information from her abusive husband. I found this post in in usenet archives (sorry it's so long, but it was one of the "for Terri" posts). There are many against the family and I figured democrats would side with MS, but maybe that isn't the case across the board:
"But the courts ARE deciding arent they? Is not Governor Bush vested with the the supreme executive power to uphold the US Constitution and the Florida constitution? Yes, the legislative powers *courts* ARE indeed deciding. Voters are not. This is really only a *stay of execution* that was implied by the state through the court system.
"We havent had a referendum on this issue that I know of. So how are voters deciding a court case? In yer mind its only the ones that voted for Bush, but from what I see living down here that aint the case. I see almost more democrats behind this at the water-coolers than republicans down here.
"The state government regulates the Hospice centers in this state and the legislature has decided to re-instate the feeding tube. They have every right to, as that is their responsibility. This is not over yet by a longshot though.
"You comment that nobody should be able to comment on this case unless they are the Husband, the doctors and the courts, not voters, is so totally lame. Did a doctor come forth with this lawsuit? Did the courts take it upon themselves to institute this? No. The husband did based off what is heresay evidence at the very least. He's a voter I would assume. The doctors probably are, and most judges vote for themselves so what is yer point?
"This will eventually go back to the courts where it damn well should be. IMO
"But in the meantime the governor of this state had enough legal power to deem this as a case that needed more scrutiny.
"He can also do that for death row inmates FYI. "There are the recent legal briefings here if you want to read them" (link to terrisfight.org).

msnbc will have a "hardball debate" on the Schiavo case this hour with Chris Matthews' guests...sometime between 7-8pm est.
To: Saundra Duffy
I understand that all asset's are in her name so he'll have to correct that little problem too.

Thank you! That's what it boils down to, politically. Terri's fate is OUR fate.
(And if you dispute that the husband was abusive when Terri was healthy, remember the ten years of isolation, no therapy, and neglect!)
Referendum, yes! How do you get this on the ballot for November 2004?
To: FR_addict
You have a good point raised in that most abuse victims tend to hide the abuse from everyone, especially their family members, due to shame.
To: cyn
This after they'd been called to the ER by apparently suspicious ER personnel
I'd like to hear more about the above. If that is true, it REALLY darkens the shadow cast on Michael Schiavo.
To: Graymatter
Terri's fate is OUR fate. Bingo!

I checked online at the RD website. That article is not on it. Probably because is is most popular article. I am not beneath sending a copy of the article along with a nasty letter.

#227. I was quoting FR_Addict, he's the one who stated it thusly. I hope he is right in making that statement. For the record.
Time will tell whether a referendum will accomplish anything. This case has been too politicized already whereas it is a moral issue foremost imo.

"I would have thought O'Reilly would have been on the family's side but he brings on people that claim she is in a persistent vegetative state." O'Reilly has a tendency to let his opinions inform his mouth before he engages his brain. When he's on the right side of an issue, he's a pit bull. Unfortunately, when he is on the wrong side of an issue, he is just as tenacious, but often misinformed....or at least lacking in background research.

I tried the RD site too. They want a subscription . I also put "Charles Cope" judge, in my search engine and got the news story. It wasn't played up as bad as the RD article.

I found this post in in usenet archives (sorry it's so long, but it was one of the "for Terri" posts). There are many against the family and I figured democrats would side with MS, but maybe that isn't the case across the board I have a family member who's solidly on the side of Terri's parents and has taken actions to help. This family member is:
An atheist
A Democrat, even voted for McGovern and Clinton...twice
A "pro-choice" advocate
I think Michael Schiavo's advocates paint us all with a very broad brush at their own peril. That mistake may be part of their eventual undoing.
