But, see, the "national unbiased news media" have been calling her vegetative, unresponsive, in a coma for xx years. Etc

My gripe exactly.
Brainwashing Buttholes.

Maybe we should keep this thread for info only and not chat? When a thread gets too long it's impossible to find updates and correct info.

There is good and bad in everything I guess. Some other concerns I have are that when a thread crosses 100 posts a great many casual passers-by don't bother following it any further. The remainder of the thread just becomes a 'chat site' for those who are truely dedicated.

And without any controversial catchy HEADLINE, the masses of casual visitors may never even see whatever information is posted inside.

Plus, sometimes there REALLY IS an important front page, or breaking news headline that deserves its own thread. Burying the story inside a 'daily-threads' at post #437 for example, will in my opinion limit the number of non-Terri-activists from noticing it to maybe 5% of those who'd see it as a stand-alone.

I certainly DO appreciate people's efforts here, yet I'm still undecided if I like the idea of all Terri's stuff posted in one huge daily bottomless pit.

Does anyone know if F.R. has a search function that searches THROUGHOUT all the text of a range of posts? I know that MANUALLY trying to search thru that mega-deep LKL thread the other day was very painful. I kind of like Terri threads being already pre-sorted by topic so that the search function works.

Another thing... I'm going to ping a number of friends and Terri fans for their opinions, and I believe without doing so, VERY FEW people would even notice this. I welcome other opinions on WHY one huge deep mega-post each day is better than what has been successful up until now, at helping Terri's cause.

I'd also be interested in seeing F.R. stats on visits per thread to study what works, and what doesn't.

Since it is now past midnight eastern time a new thread will replace this one soon. Please REPLY HERE regarding your PROS or CONS of ONE HUGE CONSOLIDATED Terri-thread instead of topic-specific individual ones.

Gee, I wonder if Schiavo has "gotten behind" on his child-support payments for this teenager.

There's only one source to my knowledge for this supposed third child, a letter written to a Florida paper which didn't publish it. Freepers have been in contact with the writer, but I know next to nothing about that. I don't give it all that much credence. It's the kind of thing that takes on a life of its own. Because one person alleges it, it must be true and therefore becomes grist for the mill.

Until and unless it is verified, like some of the other things alleged in this situation, I tend to dismiss it.

I still haven't had any sleep yet, so I have GOT to go to bed. I will leave this one up for now to address the issues you raised and check it in the morning and probably post a new thread then. This thread is mainly for the regulars who are following Terri's case very closely. Of course there will still be other threads posted to the forum when there is breaking news, but this thread is mainly to have a place to keep them all together....a point of reference and discussion for the regulars where we can post links to all the other threads and do our braubstorming and crossreferencing. Not only that, but it might avoid having a lot of lesser stories all over the place.

Pinging Terri's Army for additional input.

Well, we wouldn't want him to "suffer" by going without sex, now would we?

Why not, he was paid $300,000 for loss of consortium. He was paid for having to go without!!

"Truthfully, I feel guilty for telling my own mother, when she was dying, that it was okay to let go. I wonder if my words that I thought were encouraging, were actually discouraging. "

For someone in pain, the words you spoke would be very comforting. I'm sure your mother knew what you meant.

That's one of the main differences in this case. Terri is young and healthy and doesn't seem to be in pain.

Thanks, that worked a little... It only finds text inside
threads that are about 3 weeks old or older, and only those
that someone felt were important enough to 'index'.

I think even F.R. only saves threads beyond a certain
age if JR feels the thread was important enough, (or if
freepers bookmarked them), and i doubt that Google
indexes all of those.

>>There's only one source to my knowledge for this supposed third child...

Supposedly if you go here:

http://pubtitlet.co.pinellas.fl.us/index.html

and plunk down $60 with a credit card, you can access child support documentation. I'm not completely sure it'll work, but I do know that the limited free-access records for traffic tickets and such, did come up. (I'm not ready to spend sixty clams to launch my credit info into cyberspace when I haven't the brains to protect it out there.)
I found 3 listings for a Michael Schiavo in the Adult Criminal Lookup, one for a Theresa Marie Schiavo; a car accident case for one Jodi Centonze; various listings for Terri's case, including MS vs. Jeb Bush; 5 traffic offenses for a Michael Schiavo...but the details of these docs are not accessible without registering and paying. They may, or may NOT, be viewable to paying customers.
Any brave souls out there?

THE FIGHT TO SAVE TERRI SCHIAVO - Chris Ferrara's Legal Brief for Terri
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1006586/posts

"Chris Ferrara's Legal Brief - Click here (PDF file format) to read the legal brief Chris Ferrara prepared for Terri's case. Un-freakin'-believable! If the State of Florida doesn't prosecute Michael Schiavo, I'm off to enroll in law school tomorrow."

A link to it is provided in the first post, when you click on the word "here".

sweetliberty,
Could we add the two links provided in this post to your list for tomorrow's thread?

In the daily thread, whomever posts it should use the "article" area to link and summarize updates and information from the prior day(s), or a cumulative list of events in chrono order by date--like a timeline of events. It would make a handy quick reference. Useful info would include the link to Terrisfight.org, the LKL Schiavo and other interview transcripts, updated TBO.com, WND, and St. Pete Times articles, etc.

Would be a challenge--anyone up to the task? A designated poster for the daily thread would be helpful.

The way that reads, I don't think I would want to trust my little finger to that software, much less my life.

I have been reading for over a week now, but not doing anything. Your chortles to me to get off my butt and write an e-mail were successful.

I never watch the show but I sent an e-mail to the Greta show.

Basically I compared Terri to an inmate on death row. I asked if you came across information that if you investigated further, would free a wrongfully imprisoned person on death row, would you take the time to investigate?

If your anser is yes, then please take the time to investigate this issue. I threw in a couple open questions and left my name and address.

Begging people to send an e-mail does work. It is just much easier to read the posts as an observer and not participate. You all got to me, and I am just sorry I didn't take the 5 minutes to send an e-mail earlier.

Now I will challenge others. If you are just reading these posts and not doing anything, take 5 short minutes out of your life and e-mail somebody. All the e-mail address are shown in this message board so it is very easy for you to do. Hey I did it, and you know that you should to. C'mon send out a quick e-mail and include your name and address. Just pick some e-mail address from above and go for it. Just Do It!!!

Thank you for helping us fight for Terri's life! You found out as many of us did that e-mails (and phone calls, faxes, etc.) are really easy once you take the plunge. I can't explain exactly why, but Terri's cause has gotten me to commit to something for the first time in a while. I've been as guilty as others about just sitting on my hands and letting someone else do the work. God has really placed Terri in my heart, and I just feel that each one of our voices help to make hers heard better.

On one of the other threads in the wee hours one morning, the thought popped into my head about the children's story "Horton Hears A Who" by Dr. Seuss. Anyone remember that? Horton is this big but thoughtful elephant who thinks he hears something from this tiny little puffball that's headed for disaster. It turns out that when he listens very closely there are really a whole bunch of little itsy bitsy "whos" screaming for help, "We are here. We are HERE! WE ARE HERE!!" That's how I feel about Terri. She's really in there, whether we have the capability of understanding her or not. She's holding on for dear life, and she needs our help!

So please, all you lurkers out there, help us help Terri. Her life is depending on us right now, and one day any of us could be in her shoes. Who will speak for us if we don't speak for Terri now?

Here's what I was told at the vigil: The police DID go by the home of Bob Schindler Sr to ask him if he had any suspicion of foul play or abuse. This after they'd been called to the ER by apparently suspicious ER personnel. Mr. Schindler, being the kind person he is, couldn't fathom it at the time . . . told them "no". . . I don't know what happened to the investigation after this, why it was not pursued. I'm hoping someone can shed light on this.

I can phantom that this happened because it is exactly the reaction Laci Petersons family had about Scott
