GLSEN is a homosexual activist organization. It's mission is to fill the eyes and ears of the precious children in our public schools with homosexual propaganda. I encourage anyone who wants to know more about GLSEN and its founder, Kevin Jennings, to read through the information and articles linked below.

GLSEN needs to be booted out of the public schools.

An excerpt from "Targeting Children - Part two: How the homosexual movement uses public schools as instruments of change"

"GLSEN activist and New York kindergarten teacher Jaki Williams said starting in kindergarten is a must, since children at that age are still developing their ideas about the world around them. Even at that age, she said, “the saturation process needs to begin.”

Williams, in fact, is a model teacher when it comes to this “saturation” process. She regularly initiates conversations with her children by reading to them such controversial books as Heather Has Two Mommies, Daddy’s Roommate, and One Dad, Two Dads, Browns Dads, Blue Dads. She also hosts a viewing of the video Both of My Moms’ Names Are Judy: Children of Lesbians and Gays Speak Out, produced by a San Francisco pro-homosexual advocacy group.

According to one writer for The Lambda Report, who infiltrated a 1997 GLSEN workshop, one former teacher admitted that changing the mind of a child required more than a one-time effort. She said she had to expose her children to a constant stream of homosexual words and images, because "It’s really a conditioning process."

An excerpt from "Example Offered of Real Homosexual Agenda in America's Schools"

"The school board says it’s about harassment, it’s about tolerance. Well, what does GLSEN say?" she asks. "The executive director, Kevin Jennings, says that it is about promoting homosexuality. That’s what he said is his mission. Let me read you his quote. He said, ‘Promoting homosexuality -- we can make it happen. That is our mission from this day forward.’ "

Folger describes the prospects as "frightening." "We had people that went into the GLSEN meetings. And make no mistake, this is not about tolerance in meeting with teachers -- it's about getting to the children," she says. "In fact, it was in that GLSEN meeting, locally held, that they said, 'We need this agreement to get to the children.' "

GLSEN'S JENNINGS: !&%#! THE RELIGIOUS RIGHT!

Addressing a church audience on March 20, 2000 in New York City — just days before "Fistgate" — GLSEN Executive Director Kevin Jennings offered a stinging (and quite intolerant) assessment of how to deal with religious conservatives:

Twenty percent of people are hard-core fair-minded [pro-homosexual] people. Twenty percent are hard-core [anti-homosexual] bigots. We need to ignore the hard-core bigots, get more of the hard-core fair-minded people to speak up, and we'll pull that 60 percent [of people in the middle] … over to our side. That's really what I think our strategy has to be. We have to quit being afraid of the religious right. We also have to quit — … I'm trying to find a way to say this. I'm trying not to say, '[F---] 'em!' which is what I want to say, because I don't care what they think! [audience laughter] Drop dead!9

It should be noted that GLSEN and Jennings make heavy use of the words "respect" and "tolerance" in their public rhetoric and in descriptions of their programs.10

JENNINGS: OK TO PROMOTE HOMOSEXUALITY IN SCHOOLS

Although Jennings has employed manipulative methods that exaggerate homosexual victimhood to advance his pro-"gay" agenda in schools, he has occasionally been frank about GLSEN's real agenda:

I'd like five years from now for most Americans when they hear the word GLSEN to think, "Ooh, that's good for kids." … Sane people keep the world the same [sh---y] old way it is now. It's the [crazy] people who think, "No, I can envision a day when straight people say, 'So what if you're promoting homosexuality?' or [when] straight kids say, 'Hey, why don't you and your boyfriend come over before you go to the prom and try your tuxes on at my house?'" … [I]f we believe that can happen, we can make it happen. The only thing that will stop us is our lack of faith that we can make it happen. That is our mission from this day forward.11

BRAINWASHING KINDERGARTNERS

At the same 1997 regional GLSEN conference where Kevin Jennings revealed his goal to openly promote homosexuality in schools, New York teacher and GLSEN activist Jaki Williams led a workshop titled "Inclusive Kindergartens." What follows is Williams' chilling advice to other teachers and fellow GLSEN activists on how to push pro-homosexual themes on very young, impressionable children:

Children in the kindergarten age are "developing their superego," Williams said, and "that's when the saturation process needs to begin." … She explained that "five-year-olds really are very interested in the big questions. They're very interested in sex, death, and love, and they ask those questions, and they talk about them. And we want to help them find the answers … on their level." To initiate conversation, Williams said she has her class read from an assortment of pro-homosexual children's books, such as "Heather Has Two Mommies" and "One Dad, Two Dads, Brown Dad, Blue Dads."15

An excerpt from the article "Changing minds"

Opposition to the message of the Ex-Gay Educators Caucus is led by Kevin Jennings, a former private school teacher in Massachusetts and founder of the Gay Lesbian Straight Education Network. Mr. Jennings is a partner with the NEA in promoting acceptance of homosexuality through curriculum materials in the nation's schools as early as kindergarten and elementary grades. He was given the NEA's human rights "creative leadership" award at this year's convention.

"Ex-gay messages have no place in our nation's public schools," Mr. Jennings said in a publication of the Gay Lesbian Straight Education Network. "A line has been drawn. There is no 'other side' when you're talking about lesbian, gay and bisexual students."

Now consider this excerpt from "CFI Panel Exposes GLSEN’s Cross-Dressing Agenda - Medical Doctor Says Young Male AIDS Cases Linked to Abuse

"... FROM ABUSE VICTIM TO ‘GAY’ STUDENT

LaBarbera also relayed an account by GLSEN Executive Director Kevin Jennings in which he counseled one of his former students, a sophomore boy named Brewster who had been victimized by a homosexual pedophile. According to his account in his book One Teacher in Ten: Gay and Lesbian Educators Tell Their Stories, Jennings, then an openly homosexual teacher at the private Concord Academy in Massachusetts, met with the troubled Brewster, who nervously revealed “a story about his involvement with an older man he had met in Boston.” Jennings wrote that after the talk, Brewster “left my office with a smile on his face that I would see every time I saw him on campus.”

Jennings said proudly that he had helped the boy realize “that it’s OK to be gay.” Several years later, he saw Brewster at a homosexual restaurant in Boston. “He was now twenty-two, taking time off from college, and living with his boyfriend,” Jennings wrote.

LaBarbera said the story illustrates the problem of open homosexual activists working in schools and using their authority and trust as role models to promote false, unhealthy sexual identities to impressionable students. He said that in reality, young Brewster was not “gay,” as Jennings had claimed, but the confused victim of a homosexual predator..."

Attorney Claims Lesbian Teachers Using Schools to Push Homosexual Lifestyle

A California school district may be taken to court after a group of high school teachers began blatantly promoting homosexuality in their classrooms.

Recently a group of lesbian teachers in the Scotts Valley Unified School District (Santa Cruz County) started hanging pro-homosexual posters in their classrooms, discussing homosexuality in their classrooms, and providing referrals to homosexual and bisexual organizations to students questioning their sexuality. Numerous parents have complained to school officials, who said they would investigate matters. However, no administrative correction has been initiated in response to the complaints.

Brad Dacus, president of the Pacific Justice Institute, says the teachers are engaged in a campaign of homosexual indoctrination, and are using anti-harassment laws as a soapbox for state-sponsored endorsement of their lifestyle. And they seem to be getting the support to do so, not only from the district, but from the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and area homosexual organizations as well.

"We know it's a very liberal community," Dacus notes, "a very hostile, intolerant community for the rights of parents, and intolerant towards those people of faith who do not openly accept and embrace homosexuality and other forms of deviant lifestyles." Although he says PJI is not really expecting the Santa Cruz County school officials to implement changes, he says his legal group is "hoping they'll take it under serious consideration."

The PJI attorney feels the school district is being hypocritical since, even as the teachers are engaging in their pro-homosexual conduct under the guise of tolerance, posters celebrating traditional families are not allowed. However, he points out that complaints from outraged parents have had virtually no effect on the school administrators.

The officials have even ignored requests from district parents that the pro-homosexual posters be taken out of the classrooms and pinned instead on public bulletin boards where a student would have the option of reading or ignoring them, or that they be placed alongside posters showing competing viewpoints.

A Hostile Environment for Pro-Family Values A number of the dissenting parents have argued that the students are a captive audience being forced to confront high-pressure influence from militantly pro-homosexual teachers who stand in a position of authority over them, as well as from aggressive homosexual students. According to PJI's sources, a student who is not interested in joining a "diversity club" at school is sometimes subjected to obscene gestures and other forms of harassment from homosexual peers.

According to Dacus, what is happening in some of the district schools is that pro-homosexual teachers are being allowed to create a hostile environment for students who hold faith-based or traditional values that regard homosexuality as immoral. "Pro-homosexual indoctrination, unfortunately, has become not the exception but almost the rule for most California schools as well as for other schools in liberal parts of this country," he says.

But while homosexual groups and the ACLU reportedly claim this type of tolerance and diversity education is needed for schools to comply with anti-harassment laws, the head of PJI says this is misleading. He contends that U.S. lawmakers never meant to enable teachers or school officials to use the anti-harassment legislation as a tool for promoting homosexuality through the public education system.

Nevertheless, Dacus asserts, it is happening and cannot be ignored. "Parents need to wake up," he says, "and they need to realize that public education can actually be a very harmful, very damaging thing for their children if they're not careful." However, the attorney reminds pro-family citizens that anti-harassment laws were not written exclusively for homosexuals but to apply equally to all Americans, including those who hold traditional values.

PJI sent an attorney to address the trustees of the Scotts Valley School Board at a meeting held last Monday, which focused exclusively on the poster controversy. At the heart of the discussion was a complaint filed more than two years ago by a district parent regarding the display of the pro-homosexual posters in district classrooms. The Santa Cruz Sentinel reports that more than 400 people attended the February 7 school board meeting, which went on until almost 11 p.m.

The Scotts Valley School Board took no action, but board president Sue Roth and Superintendent Stephen Fiss planned to meet again to discuss the issue further. Roth was quoted in the Sentinel as saying she is not sure anything needs to be done, but she would hope the parent who filed the initial complaint will not pursue a lawsuit.

Here's an older article that does an excellent job of documenting how GLSEN, the NEA, and the major homosexual activist organizations work together at the national level to promote their agenda.

Supporting documentation for reply 408 in this thread:

An excerpt from "Gay advocates in education ponder a George Bush future" by By Peter Cassels, Bay Windows staff, Thursday, December 14, 2000

"... Cullen, 32, joined GLSEN eight months ago and just recently moved into its newly opened Office of Public Policy in the nation’s capital. Headquartered in New York City, the advocacy organization believed it needed a Washington presence to more effectively achieve its goals of eliminating discrimination based on sexual orientation in the nation’s 16,000 local school districts. Cullen and her office will identify federal, state and local public policy strategies and expand GLSEN’s work with Congress, the U.S. Department of Education and mainstream lobbying organizations, such as the National Education Association (NEA) and the National School Boards Association (NSBA). The move also places GLSEN in close proximity to prominent gay advocacy organizations it works with: the Human Rights Campaign (HRC), the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force, the Gay and Lesbian Victory Fund, the Log Cabin Republicans and the National Stonewall Democratic Federation...

In 1965, Congress passed the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), which today provides seven to eight percent of local school funding. The Department of Education develops policy and administers those programs. “That’s where the impact can be dramatic,” Cullen notes. The department produces a raft of resources, such as printed materials and teacher and staff training programs and seminars on a variety of subjects affecting education, from improving the quality of schools to implementing federal anti-discrimination policies for students.

According to GLSEN spokesperson Jim Anderson, “any time the federal government can include sexual orientation in resource materials is extremely helpful to us when we go into local communities to make our case for expanding policies to include it.” Even though federal statutes do not currently protect sexual orientation, the department does sometimes include reference to it in materials and trainings. “Its Office of Civil Rights has comprehensive inclusive policies,” Cullen notes. “It did some work around hate crimes in the past few years and its language did include sexual orientation...”

She emphasizes that GLSEN doesn’t plan on developing and implementing its national strategies alone. “There’s a wealth of like-minded organizations that have offices here,” she points out. “The HRC has the lobbying force and a reputation on Capitol Hill. There’s the National Youth Advocacy Coalition, which represents community-based organizations working with GLBT youth. The American Psychological Association works with school counselors and psychologists.”

Then there’s the NEA, a powerful lobbying force: “Bob Chase, its president, spoke at our national conference in Chicago this year. He took a lot of heat, including hate mail from NEA members, for doing so. And, we’ll work with local school boards to promote our goals. From what I can tell, the NSBA has good folks and forward-thinking proposals.” The 2001 conference will be held in D.C., enhancing GLSEN’s visibility..."
