The State of Missouri had a white tail deer population of about 500 in 1925.

In 2003 the Missouri deer herd was 1,200,000 animals.

Controled deer harvesting has been allowed since 1944, but the herd has continued to grow. Deer harvested in 2003 about 250,000 animals.

Officials of the Missouri Department of Conservation have stated that the population of mountain lions will increase with the larger deer herd.

At present mountain lions are protected from any type of "sport hunting " in Missouri. Mountain lions attack and kill humans, the liberal, tree hugging state of California is an example.

Should mountain lions increase to the point of becoming dangerous to humans, the common sence approach of Shoot & Shovel will come into being long before the politicans would even think of acting.

What is so enjoyable about killing an animal?

Of course an animal that is a problem should be put down and deers serve a purpose for other animals in the wild.

I am told that Bear attacks and other animal attacks on humans is because there is not enough animals for them to eat? why is that?

If you notice, many municipalities actually have a deer overpopulation problem. Why do you suppose that is? Because not enough people are killing them there.

Bear attacks happen because not enough people hunt them. Bears are not stupid enough to attack a human they perceive as dangerous. Not enough hunting pressure, over generations, and the animals lose their fear of humans, and begin to see them as a food source.

The creation is fallen, and animals that spill human blood, the Bibles says, will have to give account for it. The same is not said in regards to humans killing animals... only humans killing other humans.

You are wrong....
The Atkins works because it puts your body in Ketosis which makes your body burn fat for fuel thus loosing weight.

Is it healthy NO and Animal fat does clog arteries, and if you don't balance out your diet with other foods ANIMAL FAT will get to your heart. Yes hormone free meats are definetly better to eat, we have many grocery stores here that only sell hormone range free chickens and other meats which is healthier than chicken from farms, and animals you might kill in the wild that carry disease.

You said regarding missyme's assertion that a show portrayed Zoos using old useless specimens as target practice: That is not hunting, and it is intellectually dishonest to say that it is!

Oh ya think? ;-) But it serves the purposes of her argument, so who cares?

/sarcasm

Shooting clay birds laying on the ground is not sporting clays. Blond

"Why can't you just catch them and move them somewhere else, and you are right no Beavers in San Diego but if I had any I would put them in a place where they could build there dams they serve a purpose in life..."

Hmm. Tell you what, I'll put you up in a shack in a valley prone to beaver dams on one condition--you have to wear this invisible fence collar that prevents you from leaving.

Seriously, I've known several occasions in which DNR types have had to dynamite not only the dams, but the lodges or holes ( if they're bank beaver ) because of extensive damage occurring to the local ecosystem.

HEY! Watch it bub. I've talked to a really wussy guy that said this silly stuff too. He even was supposed to be a Christian. He *was* a teenager from California though, maybe that explains it.

You can't simply move animals unless you intend to ship them halfway across the country. They find their way back.

Wrong. Coyotes here kill pets, turkeys and deer fawns.

Some animals that are for eating should be put down very humanely

All hunters try their best to do so. Reduces tracking time and saves the meat.

and animal research is not needed for the most part but if it is it should not have the animal suffering.

Animal research may lead to the cure for cancer someday.

Fishing for fish well that is hard, I guess fishing is okay

Fishing is no different than hunting, and the death of a fish is shall we say, less 'humane' than a gunshot wound.

Shooting birds when there flying in the air also should be banned no need for it...

Now that doesn't even make sense.

hmm. Sorta like fishing--casting out the line and waiting for a nibble?

but animals killing people are far less than people killing people in vehicular

There are almost 70,000 deer-car crashes in my state. Two deaths in less than a week during rutting season in my county.(160,000 people)
